Kissing the Ice Empress

"You despicable human! I'll make you bite off more than you can chew!" the Ice Empress said furiously.

"But you still don't seem to have realized something." Lin Xuanchen pinched her delicate, fair cheek again and chuckled.

"Do you think you still have a chance to return to the Far North?" Lin Xuanchen leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Senior Ice Empress, you wouldn't want to never see the Snow Empress again, would you?"

At those words, the Ice Empress stiffened. Disbelief flashed through her beautiful amber eyes as she asked shakily, "You... what exactly are you trying to do?"

"Heh heh heh." Lin Xuanchen let out a sinister chuckle. His palm slowly slid down her pretty little face, finally settling on her slender waist, which he could encircle with one hand.

"Bastard! I'd sooner blow myself up than let you have your way!"

The Ice Empress looked down at where his hand had come to rest. A lovely blush involuntarily rose to her cheeks, and she lifted her eyes to him, speaking in embarrassed anger.

"What are you thinking?" Lin Xuanchen lightly tapped her little head. "I haven't said anything yet. I only meant that you don't need to follow me around for the time being."

"Uh... that's all?" The Ice Empress froze for a moment. "Nothing else?"

"Then were you hoping I'd do something, Senior Ice Empress?" Lin Xuanchen smiled softly, running his hand back and forth over her jade-colored hair as though petting a cat.

Huh? So I got the wrong idea? Wait, no! How dare he touch my head! And so roughly! Does he really think I'm his pet?

After a moment's daze, the Ice Empress quickly came to her senses. But as she felt the gentle touch on her head, she immediately pursed her little lips in displeasure.

"Mm! Bastard! Don't touch my head!" The Ice Empress waved her little hands at Lin Xuanchen, indignant cries spilling from her pink lips.

But with her Soul Power inaccessible, she couldn't reach Lin Xuanchen at all. On top of that, she was a petite little girl and not very tall to begin with, so he kept patting her head like a mischievous child teasing an old man.

"All right, all right, I'll stop teasing you." Lin Xuanchen gently pushed her away and smiled. "Give me a way to contact you. I'll definitely come looking for you later."

"You bastard human! No one has ever dared to touch my head like that! And you've messed up my hair!"

As though she hadn't heard him at all, the Ice Empress straightened her hair while complaining in embarrassed anger.

"Hey, Senior Ice Empress, did you hear what I said?" Lin Xuanchen stepped forward and patted her little head again. "Besides, I only touched it a couple of times. I didn't do anything else."

"Aaaah! You scoundrel! I'd only just fixed my hair, and you've messed it up again!" Feeling that warm, broad hand settle on her head once more, the Ice Empress exploded.

"You bastard human! I'll fight you to the death! Die!" The Ice Empress sprang forward, throwing herself at Lin Xuanchen again.

Thud!

This time, her pounce finally succeeded! She knocked Lin Xuanchen to the ground, and her little fists rained down on him like a raging storm.

Smack, smack, smack!

As her little fists struck his body, a series of soft impacts rang out.

Lin Xuanchen suffered no injuries, however. The Ice Empress couldn't draw on her Soul Power now, while he could naturally use his own to defend himself, so there was no way she could hurt him.

"Senior Ice Empress, have you vented enough yet? You still haven't answered my question." Lin Xuanchen paid no mind to her attacks. They didn't hurt anyway.

"Bastard! You won't even let me use my Soul Power! Otherwise, I'd beat you to death, you lecher!" Seemingly tired from punching him, the Ice Empress slowly stopped.

"All right, all right. Isn't it time you gave me something I can use to contact you? I'll need it to call you later." Lin Xuanchen smiled faintly.

As he spoke, Lin Xuanchen started to sit up from the ground, intending to dislodge the Ice Empress from his stomach.

But just then!

His sudden movement sent the Ice Empress, who had been sitting on his stomach, toppling uncontrollably forward, straight toward his face.

Lin Xuanchen was in the middle of rising, and he hadn't expected her to suddenly fall toward him either.

In the end, her soft pink lips landed squarely against his.

The instant their lips touched, both of them briefly froze.

Even the air seemed to solidify at that moment.

Lin Xuanchen's blue-green eyes met the Ice Empress's amber ones. For a while, they remained locked in that kiss, neither moving first.

"AAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!"

Only after about half a minute did the Ice Empress snap out of her daze and frantically push his handsome face away. Then a piercing shriek burst from her little mouth!

"Aaaah! You lecher! You filthy, shameless creep! I'll kill you!" Somehow, the Ice Empress found another surge of Soul Power, and a layer of ice crystals actually formed over her right fist.

"Oh, shit!"

At the sight, Lin Xuanchen hurriedly activated Three Thousand Lightning Movement, turning into a streak of blue lightning as he slipped out from beneath her.

At the same time, he hastily stirred the wisp of Life Spirit Flame's child flame inside her dantian, reinforcing the barrier that cut her off from her Soul Power.

"You shameless creep! Stop running if you've got the guts! I'll kill you!!!" The Ice Empress wiped her pink lips, a cold gleam bursting from her amber eyes. She sprang into motion and raced toward Lin Xuanchen.

Though she was burning with fury and embarrassment, Lin Xuanchen had sealed her Soul Power inside her dantian, leaving her unable to draw on it to pursue him.

She therefore had no hope of catching Lin Xuanchen with Three Thousand Lightning Movement bolstering his speed. All she could do was curse while trying to keep pace with him.

"A-Chen! Senior Ice Empress! What's going on?" Wang Dong'er, who had been waiting quietly nearby, couldn't help feeling startled at the sight of the Ice Empress chasing Lin Xuanchen down.

"Dong'er, Senior Ice Empress wants to kill me. Let's get out of here."

Lin Xuanchen flashed in front of Wang Dong'er and swept her into his arms without another word. With a thought, he activated Three Thousand Lightning Movement again and raced out of the valley carrying her.
