Before her, the Black Phoenix Robe swayed, rustling against the darkness-shrouded floor.
The Black Phoenix Robe's wearer paced toward Alice, stopping a short distance away. Half her figure suddenly emerged into the silver light cast by the full moon, while the other half remained concealed in the hall's shadows.
Her Ladyship the Sacred Lord's features were revealed before Alice.
A veil covered half her face, leaving only her eyes exposed... their outer corners tilted naturally upward, traced with dark shadow, and a gleam of gold shone within her deep pupils, openly displaying her pride and the imposing air of a sovereign ruling over all!
Her inky, cloudlike hair was gathered into a high bun at the back of her head, crowned with a royal crown carved from blue-green jade!

If someone had told Alice now that this Holy Lady was the ruler of the Abyss, she would have been at least ninety percent convinced.
