White Snow shrugged at Ye Han's words and said, "Master! Didn't I tell you ages ago? I'm the legendary divine beast, the phoenix!"
As he spoke, White Snow blinked earnestly, gazing at Ye Han with big, watery eyes! His expression practically said, Everything I said is true. Please believe me, Master...
How could Ye Han be fooled by such an affected display? If anything, it made him a little queasy.
Ye Han rolled his eyes and said, "Enough, enough. You're a grown man-stop putting on an act! Tell me the truth, or I'm heading straight back."
White Snow protested as though he had suffered a terrible injustice. "Master, I've been loyal to you through and through! All along the way, through wind, rain, ice, frost, and sandstorms, I haven't complained once. Everything I said is true."
With a half-smile, Ye Han asked, "Give it a rest! Since when are phoenixes white?"
White Snow immediately said, "Master! Then let me ask you this: have you ever seen a real phoenix?"
Ye Han's expression shifted, and he shook his head with a half-smile. This fellow certainly knew how to spin a tale...
And so, White Snow waved his winglike arms and said, "Don't judge me by how white I am now. My feathers will turn golden like a phoenix's in the future! Look under my arms-aren't there a few golden ones there?"
As he spoke, he even showed off his armpits...
Ye Han could not help snapping, "Enough, enough! I can't be bothered with what you are anymore. Shouldn't you explain how you know the space laws?"
Indeed, everything he had said earlier had merely been a lead-in to this question. After all, the space laws, time laws, and life laws were known as the Three Supreme Laws of Heaven and Earth.
