"Who was it?"
He asked instinctively.
The Natural Girl stared at him as though he were a dumbass and said:
"Who else? That mechanical lady you abducted, obviously. Don't tell me you've forgotten her already? She was still holding you when we got there, you bastard."
Lynn said nothing.
His brows furrowed slightly as he propped up his chin and tried hard to remember.
Honestly, he really couldn't recall much. The Clown Curse had torn his soul apart so badly that he had absolutely no memory of what had happened after he lost consciousness.
But...
He pondered it, then asked uncertainly:
"Are you sure? She's infected with the Flesh Plague right now. You know what it does, don't you? Its ability to restrain mechanical bodies has played a huge role in countless wars. Are you sure she was still conscious then?"
The Natural Girl closed her eyes, looking utterly unconcerned. She brushed back the branches and leaves covering her head, folded her arms, and said:
"Well, I can't be sure about that."
"But whatever your attitude toward her, she's still a member of the Mechanical Race. If your Flesh Plague can't restrain her, the Mechanical Church could easily locate her. In my current condition, if we face another encirclement, I think you know exactly what kind of situation we'll be in."
Lynn asked, "Where is she now?"
The Natural Girl replied indifferently:
"I locked her up. In her current condition, she couldn't escape anyway."
Deep within the crisscrossing trunks of the Mother Tree of Desire.
Inside a room surrounded by twisted trunks, warped, spreading flesh could faintly be seen in the darkness. It had crawled over every inner wall, but aside from the mechanical body it parasitized, there was no machinery or metal nearby for it to attach to,
