The Colossus Brain's breathing quickened slightly. That embryo gave her a deeply unsettling feeling. Its aura of turmoil and resentment seemed to hold the hatred and pain of countless generations.
And she understood exactly what was going on.
This was the Burial Grounds of the Old Days Deities. She did not know whether this was some grand undertaking by those Plague Doctors, but without a doubt, in this region they had concealed, given enough time, this embryo really could develop into a new monster-a terrifying, twisted Origin devoid of all reason.
Because she could sense it.
Gathered here were the countless beings of the Old Days who had perished back then.
Lynn looked up, holding his Monocle as he examined it closely, and said:
"It probably formed naturally, but there are also clear signs of modification. After discovering the anomaly here, those Plague Doctors probably started secretly accelerating the growth of the monster inside this embryo. If that's the case, it explains what this mist is for. It really can block outside scrutiny to a considerable degree."
And clearly.
To deal with him, those Plague Doctors had evidently used some means to stir up the resentment within this embryo, throwing it into turmoil.
Had he not carried a Jailer's corpse here on his back, probably no one could have ventured this far under these conditions and laid eyes on this bizarre, turbulent entity.
The Colossus Brain knitted her brows tightly, parted her delicate little lips, and said:
"If this embryo really hatches, I'm afraid it'll become a second Flesh Dominator. No-with resentment on this scale, compounded by those Plague Doctors' interference, whatever hatches will probably be nothing but a mindless monster."
It was born of the resentment and suffering of the Old Days.
Lynn said nothing.
He merely stared fixedly
