Lynn finally reached her, one step at a time.
His reddened eyes reflected the girl sitting collapsed on the ground. She had nowhere left to run. She had fled from her surface memories all the way into the deepest reaches of her subconscious, and after witnessing everything she had endured, Lynn finally understood where this girl had come from.
She was the embodiment of everything in her past.
She was her true subconscious, bearing those painful memories forgotten beneath the ice.
She still looked as she had before falling into the sea. Her body still bore the scars of the whipping she had received back then. Her face was dirty, and her eyes remained empty and lifeless.
Violent emotions roiled in Lynn's gaze.
And that was what pained him.
The reason he had dared to venture this far was that he knew, if he truly could not change her obsession, he had another way to bring his Miss Doll back once and for all: erase her entire subconscious, severing her completely from this painful past.
