The next day, the Soul Lamp gradually brightened.
Lynn opened his eyes groggily. After a whole night of digestion, the cells throughout his body had finally managed to bring Raven's Mental Power within a barely controllable range. Aside from some tightness in his chest and shortness of breath, he felt no other discomfort.
Next came the gradual fusion, which was bound to be a lengthy process.

Surely not! Surely not!
She hadn't secretly engaged in some bizarre Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind while he was asleep, had she?!
Lynn stared wide-eyed and lifted her up.
He pulled hard.
At last, he peeled the writhing Eve off his body.
And peeling her off produced a peculiar, scalp-tingling sensation, rather like soaking in slime.
This wouldn't do!
Although he did indeed like gooey girls, this still pushed the limits of his tastes as a normal human being.
More importantly, she counted as his adopted child.
Seemingly sensing Lynn's breath, the writhing Eve slowly woke up. A large eyeball opened on the side facing Lynn and met his wide-eyed stare.
