Lynn glanced aside as he heard a somewhat familiar voice coming from the black mist behind him.
It seemed he had just run into someone he knew.
That was hardly surprising. People came and went in Wandering Soul Alley, and although new residents arrived every day, a few tough bastards inevitably survived long enough to become permanent residents.
Whatever.
Lynn ignored it and picked up speed again, charging toward the entrance to Wandering Soul Alley.
He ran for over ten minutes.
Lynn broke through the black mist and stepped out of Wandering Soul Alley.
Wandering Soul Alley was not large. Really, it was only a street outside the City of Sin where all sorts of demons, monsters, and ghosts gathered. But in the darkness, hunters and living urban legends always lurked there, ready to kill any creature that dared venture out at this hour.
At least Lynn had not encountered any this time.
Or perhaps...
In a sense, a naked creature glowing faintly with radioactive green light, carrying a Chainsaw on his back and wearing a mask, looked more like a nocturnal horror himself.
A moment later, Lynn stepped into the grounds of the Clock Tower.
He looked up.
Through the swirling black mist, he clearly saw the Clock Tower built from crumbling bricks and stone. Even the great bell hanging high in the tower was clearly visible. He had heard his teacher mention that this Clock Tower had stood here since before his teacher arrived.
And when the bell rang, it meant the Soul Lamps would soon go out and night would fall.
Though this Dark World had never really had anything resembling day or night.
As for that Bell-Ringing Demon, Lynn could not remember ever hearing about him. Whether he had been a resident of Wandering Soul Alley
