"You're the first person who ever dared snatch prey from right under my nose. But it doesn't matter. You can't change anything. Your adorable Subset is already in our hands, too. She'll soon be thrown into the data furnace. The final fragment of Permission is now in place. The atomic revolution's success is inevitable."

Boom-

A punch blasted the Witch God Head through thick layers of earth and more than a dozen corridors, sending her crashing heavily into a floor littered with mechanical wreckage.

"Head up! Get to the surface!"

Lynn looked up and shouted.

They were too close to the core of the atomic revolution. They had to lure him away. Fighting here offered them no advantage whatsoever.

The Witch God Head gritted her teeth viciously and tore through the earth at top speed, racing toward the surface.

"Trying to run?"

Ether sneered.

His form instantly dissolved into flowing mercury, surging toward them in dense waves like a curtain that blotted out the sky.

The entire underground base was collapsing amid the crackling roar of electrical sparks.

Ether's power converged from every direction. Like a terrifying monstrosity capable of expanding without limit, he blocked every route ahead of them. Mercury-like blood vessels formed a grotesque jungle, relentlessly suppressing them and sealing off their escape.

That was Eve's power!

We can't break through!

With every direction completely sealed off, they had no chance whatsoever of reaching the surface!

Lynn gritted his teeth.

He did still have one trump card.

Azephala and Cthulhu's enormous corpse had remained in his Trident World all along. Although Azephala could control that Old God's corpse in battle, it couldn't move at all once it descended into reality. Its immense body would instead become food for Ether.

If it was devoured, things would become even worse.
