"This is..."
Silver Fantasy looked up, intensifying her data analysis.
"In terms of design, this is indeed technology belonging to our Machine Intelligence Civilization, but the matrix it forms doesn't look like something we're capable of creating. He really does seem to be simulating something, using mechanical structures to reproduce some kind of... some kind of..."
Lynn adjusted his Monocle and said:
"The internal structures of the stars that once suppressed Ether?"
Silver Fantasy continued her analysis and said:
"I don't know. My database contains no corresponding technological branch, but judging by the way this matrix manifests, it does look like some enormous containment vessel."
Time passed swiftly.
As the enormous mechanical structure overhead slowly neared completion, the immense sphere suspended high in the sky became clearly visible even from hundreds of kilometers away. Its intricate construction inspired awe and shock at the terrifying technological prowess behind it.
"I can only complete a preliminary simulation."
Countless Nanomachines formed Extinction's humanoid silhouette beside Lynn.
"There is too little matter here-not enough for me to build a larger structure-otherwise-I should be able to refine it further-tens of thousands of years ago-when Star Embracer first released Ether from inside a star-the Scholar and I sensed the hidden matrices within those stars-"
"After tens of thousands of years of secret research-we collected a vast amount of relevant data-but we could still only imitate what we saw-even during the era of the God of Ten Thousand Machines-we had no way of understanding how that matrix actually operated-"
Lynn glanced at him and said:
"Can you guarantee it'll work?"
Extinction said hoarsely:
"I can't be certain-we've never tested it-which also prevented us from conducting further research and improvements-but if it really can suppress and weaken Ether in some way-that will mean we're on the right track-"
