The atmosphere in the conference room finally returned to normal after the utter madness of moments before.
"You did that on purpose, didn't you?"
The Self-Binding Angel's face had long since darkened. Gripping Lynn by the back of his collar, she shook him back and forth, left and right, for quite some time before stuffing him into his seat.
"Could you stop going out of your way to make things awkward? Even if your theory is right and most of the divine seats are vacant now, don't go announcing some grand investiture ceremony! You make it sound like you've got a whole pile of Divine Sparks on hand, you idiot!"
The Origins all wiped away their sweat.
If they hadn't known this was simply how he was, they probably would have fled one after another.
Lynn sat where he was and adjusted his Monocle, a smile still on his face. Leaning forward, he chuckled.
"True, it's a little too early to talk about this."
"Then just think of it as a grand promise for now. If I really manage to pull it off someday, I'll make good on everything I just said."
"It's just... I'll need everyone's help."
His expression grew serious as he said that last sentence.
Everyone was startled.
They had thought Lynn was merely talking, but judging by his expression, he seemed genuinely intent on doing it.
By now, they actually knew Lynn very well.
Everything that came out of his mouth was always half true and half false. You could never tell whether he was joking or disguising his genuine thoughts as a joke.
"What do you mean?"
The Self-Binding Angel sounded uncertain.
Lynn said nothing. Instead, he reached into his System Space and took out an exquisite box.
