As he poured all his strength into neutralizing that blow, he finally seized an opening and charged desperately toward a certain point in history, roaring.
He saw it!
He saw it!!
Amid the wildly surging torrent of time, amid those mottled phantoms, tears flooded his blood-red eyes.
He saw the figure about to ascend the Throne. It was himself, the moment before he willingly sacrificed himself and stepped into that ultimate deception.
He wanted to warn him!
He wanted to take his place!
Within that phantom of time, inside that magnificent Sanctuary, the figure walked step by step toward the towering Throne.
"Don't!"
"Don't ascend that Throne!! Don't believe what Sir Awen says!! You won't want to know!! What awaits you is a cruel fate you could never accept!!"
His voice nearly tore apart. He strained to reach into the past of the River of Time, the tear tracks on his cheeks steeped in endless sorrow.
His final cry almost pierced the entire River of Time.
For an instant, it seemed.
The figure before the Throne raised his head, staring blankly as though he had heard that distant, heart-rending cry.
As though a ripple of time had brushed gently past.
A wind laden with sorrow.
But in the end, Lynn still failed to break through the barriers of the River of Time. The figure dragged him out of time's curtain, for that man was now the only being besides the Great Lord who wielded firstborn power, while Lynn had long since become the Outsider. When Lynn was blasted into the endless void, the figure remained an unshakable curtain, barring him in the future.
But he refused to give up.
He wiped away his tears and cast aside his sorrow.
Like a madman, he charged once more toward that predetermined history.
