Lynn snapped back to his senses, quickly averted his gaze from Moriichi, and looked toward the other side of the hall, searching all around.
The very next moment, he spotted the black umbrella standing open on the floor in a corner by the wall.
Clearly, the moment Moriichi started firing wildly, Miss Doll had opened her black umbrella to block that horrifying, filthy attack.
With Miss Doll's strength, she certainly couldn't have suffered any harm.
"Miss Doll, that guy's dead! You can come out now!"
Lynn shouted.
Strangely, however, he received no reply from Miss Doll.
But Lynn didn't mind.
She was an aloof young lady, after all. It was perfectly normal for her not to answer him.
With that, Lynn strode contentedly through the bloody muck to the filth-covered black umbrella and peered curiously underneath it.
"Miss Doll?"
He immediately saw Miss Doll beneath the large black umbrella, her legs pressed tightly together and her slender hands clasped around her knees, her fingers clenched hard. Her face was buried against her knees, leaving only her pitch-black eyes visible.
But what puzzled Lynn was that Miss Doll's body seemed to be trembling slightly.
Yet it didn't seem like a natural reaction to fear or cold.
Still, Lynn could clearly tell that she was trembling.
Lynn froze.
Could she have been injured while fighting that flesh aberration Moriichi turned into?
Why else would she be trembling so badly?
"Miss Doll, are you hurt?"
Black String Moon raised her head, her face as calm as ever. Yet something in those pitch-black eyes gave Lynn the distinct impression that she might kill him at any moment.
