The fierce bombardment continued.
Dense volleys of missiles and beams poured down over all of Curse City as though they cost nothing. This was a true saturation strike-an outright extermination.
Ten minutes later, the first round of bombardment ended.
Almost all of Curse City had become a sea of flames. Aside from the immense trunk of the Mother Tree of Desire standing at its center, every stronghold of the Flesh God Cult had been razed.
Then the second round began.
This was a ground strike targeting the Flesh God Cult's forces hidden underground.
Dense volleys of bunker-busting missiles and beams easily penetrated dozens of kilometers beneath the surface, churning up Curse City once more at the geological level.
This bombardment lasted a full twenty minutes.
But it still wasn't over.
The third round of bombardment began immediately afterward.
This time, countless azure fighters deployed, dispersing all the black mist in the sky. The spatial shock warheads they launched battered the spatial interlayers above Curse City until they nearly cracked.
Lynn could even clearly see great numbers of fleshy corpses, blasted to pieces, falling out of space before being swallowed by the sea of flames below.
The bombardment lasted nearly a full hour!
The surface, the underground, the sky, the gaps in space!
Every conceivable hiding place came under the Mechanical Church's lethal assault.
By Lynn's rough estimate, the total energy unleashed during that hour was at least equivalent to several thousand of the Little Boy bombs dropped on that country whose people were "living pretty good little lives."
And these were merely conventional weapons.
The Mechanical Church had yet to deploy its truly devastating nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
Toward the end, even they had no choice but to retreat from the High Tower and relocate somewhere safer.
