So she mistook that monster for me?
Lynn stared with dead-fish eyes, looking the black-haired little girl bouncing around atop the enormous spider's head up and down as he thought it over carefully.
No wonder she was so brave.
When I heard her shouting earlier, she sounded scared out of her mind.
Sure enough, have I been too nice to her, letting her develop this terrible habit of not being afraid of me at all?
Lynn rubbed his chin.
Then he strode toward the giant spider that had emerged from the blood mist, slowing his steps until he stopped a dozen meters in front of the monster, utterly unruffled.
He looked up, adjusted his Monocle, and said with a smile:
"Zuo Zuo, what are you doing?!"
Zuo Zuo, who was tugging hard at the Plague Doctor Mask on the spider's head with a (〃>皿<) expression, said:
"What? Finally showing your true colors? At a time like this, you're still turning into this huge lump of a thing to mess with me? You're hopeless!"
Lynn rubbed his nose in surprise. "Oh! Is that so? But I really don't think this big spider looks much like me! Why don't you look behind you?"
Zuo Zuo immediately grew angry and whipped her head around.
"What? You little..."
"..."
"..."
In an instant, Zuo Zuo froze in place.
Dozens of meters away, Lynn looked up with a beaming smile and gave Zuo Zuo, standing atop the spider's head, a little wave in affectionate greeting.
An eerie breeze swirled around and blew between them.
Zuo Zuo stared stiffly at Lynn in the distance, then turned her neck back with a series of clicks to look at the slimy monster whose Plague Doctor Mask she was currently pulling with all her might.
