Under the God of Ten Thousand Machines' rending gaze, Lynn drove the tiny chip containing the Cyber Civilization's entire psionic system and memories into Sir Awen's translucent, illusory body.
The silver light of Remnants of the Past flared.
Such unreserved trust left the light of Remnants of the Past almost entirely unobstructed.
The chip suddenly shone with a brilliant halo. Those lost and missing memories thundered like a flood through every corner of Sir Awen's consciousness.
That immense psionic body rose with a rumble within the Light Curtain, which shone like a Blazing Sun, as though bearing everything from its past.
"His memories and knowledge were in your hands?!"
The God of Ten Thousand Machines grew hysterical, blazing fury rising all over his body.
He knew about the curse Cyber faced.
He also knew that Cyber would surely hide a backup of his civilization's memories before ascending to an Origin.
But he had never imagined this.
The third fragment he had coveted all this time had actually been in that insignificant human's hands all along!
"I want you dead!"
Amid his endless roars, world-destroying death rays burst from his eyes, ready to melt Lynn down completely.
Yet Lynn still did not retreat.
Because of trust.
Because he believed that, so long as you sincerely preserved someone else's past, that person would surely help uphold your future!
