System notifications kept ringing in his ears.
Finally, after who knew how long...
[Ding! Your energy has fallen to "0." You have acquired a special abnormal debuff: Overdraw.]
As the final notification faded, Lynn slumped in his chair, utterly drained. His head buzzed dazedly as he lit himself a cigarette, feeling as though he had been ruined-he could no longer muster even a shred of strength.
Because there was... nothing left!
She shook her head and continued staring at him, her voice rustling:
"[The transaction is complete. Would you like to release the curse immediately?]"
Dazed but satisfied, Lynn said, "Go ahead, go ahead! Release it however you like!"
No sooner had he finished speaking...
She clambered around and turned her head, aiming her pitch-black, demonic eyes at the chair Lynn had designated earlier. A cacophony of shrill, evil-spirit-like screams instantly erupted from her eyes as she fixed it with a gaze as black as the Abyss.
Bzz-
An immense surge of power swept through the surroundings.
Pitch-black threads immediately wound around the chair, enveloping it and applying the "100% Miss" curse.
[Ding! You have successfully released a curse (without backlash or side effects). Demonization has ended.]
As the system notification rang in his ears...
"[The transaction is complete. I look forward to working with you again.]"
The octopus-like tentacles on her head began writhing and retracting. Then she closed her tiny eyes and tried to return to his eye socket.
Thump-
Her tiny forehead struck the rim of Lynn's eye socket.
Then she froze there, stunned.
Because something wasn't quite right...
Thump-
Thump-
As though she had run into some unresolvable bug, her tiny body simply could not shrink into an eyeball, leaving her to make pointless, futile attempts.
