At that thought, Lü Yongchang clicked his tongue softly, then abruptly turned toward Mo Zeyang beside him.
"Five hundred thousand qubits still aren't enough."
"Do you have any ideas for a third-generation Quantum Computer yet?"
Mo Zeyang: "???"
Though he had plenty of complaints running through his mind, he quietly nodded.
"The lab is already conducting research into it."
"If we don't run into any major problems, we might see it next year."
Lü Yongchang nodded in satisfaction and turned his gaze back to the large screen before him.
After a moment of silence, he sighed softly.
"What a shame."
Mo Zeyang's eyes flickered, and he asked curiously, "What's a shame?"
Lü Yongchang drew a deep breath, then let it out in a heavy sigh. "The communication problem."
"You mean... Superluminal Communication Technology?" As someone working on quantum computer technology, Mo Zeyang immediately grasped what Lü Yongchang meant.
"You're planning to achieve superluminal communication through quantum technology?"
"That's not going to be easy!"
Mo Zeyang's voice was filled with ruefulness.
Lü Yongchang nodded silently.
After studying for some time, he had fully realized why quantum communication technology represented the upper limit of a Type I civilization.
Humanity had conducted extensive research into quantum communication technology.
It had even been commercialized.
But those quantum communication technologies did not communicate through nonlocal quantum entanglement. Instead, they relied on entanglement distribution and quantum teleportation, making use of the quantum uncertainty principle and wave function collapse.
The result, naturally, was faster, more secure information transmission.
In other words, existing quantum communication technology was not the quantum communication technology in the system.
At that thought, Lü Yongchang sighed again.
"Even if it's hard, we still have to do it!"
"Trying to become an interstellar civilization without superluminal communication would be like being blind."
Mo Zeyang
