A few faint wrinkles formed atop Lair's Thought Organ, but quickly smoothed away.
There was a trace of mockery in his voice. "Levi, relax. The Academy of Sciences has no intention of interfering with your lives."
"I only came to tell you something, since we're all Proxima Centauri people."
"Something about the Solar System," Lair added casually when he saw Levi's doubtful expression.
Levi's breathing pores flared open!
"What?!"
His voice was unusually urgent.
As the leader of the rebel army, he naturally knew that the Solar System was the escape destination chosen by the Academy of Sciences and the Royal Family, and their best option at present.
Seeing Levi's anxiety, Lair seemed to relax a little.
He sat down carelessly in a nearby chair and waved his thick, short forelimb. "Relax, Levi. It's nothing serious."
"What happened to the Solar System?!" Levi narrowed his three pairs of visual organs, a hint of menace creeping into his voice. "If you keep playing games, I'll call the guards!"

"We can't go to the Solar System anymore."

Levi instinctively held his breath. "Why?" he asked in a strained voice.
Lair shrugged. "The Academy of Sciences' latest observations."
"The Solar System's primary star has entered its final dying stages. It underwent a helium flash some time ago and is now turning into a white dwarf."
"According to
