The sound of machinery came from behind them.

"Ross 154 is still undergoing a Flare Brightening."
"Over these ten hours, its brightness has increased by five magnitudes."
Lü Yongchang's expression shifted slightly.
Abnormal.
Far too abnormal.
Based on past experience, Ross 154, a UV Ceti-type flare star, generally brightened by only three to four magnitudes during a major flare.
But now...
Both the duration of the Flare Brightening and its intensity were highly abnormal.
"Is something wrong with the chromosphere?"
Lü Yongchang frowned and murmured to himself.
As he spoke, he turned his gaze toward the holographic projection directly ahead.
He tried to find the cause of the anomaly in the rapidly changing data.
A flicker of hesitation crossed Fang Xu's face.
After a long internal struggle, he reached out and gently tugged at the hem of Lü Yongchang's clothes.

Puzzled, Lü Yongchang looked away from the holographic projection and turned to Fang Xu beside him. "What's wrong?"
Fang Xu did not speak immediately, merely giving Lü Yongchang a meaningful look.
Then he lowered his voice. "Come with me."
With that, he grabbed Lü Yongchang's arm and headed toward a corner of the laboratory.
"What couldn't you say over there?"
In the corner of the main laboratory, Lü Yongchang gave Fang Xu a bemused look.
Perhaps
