Aboard the Bosa Flagship.
"How is the recovery of the small warships coming along?"
The Bosa Commander asked quietly, "Our antimatter reserves are running low. Once we deal with Human Civilization, we may need the antimatter aboard those small warships to return to our homeworld."
At those words, a Giant Stick Insect quickly lowered its head and pressed several buttons on the Control Console before it.
"We've already dispatched recovery robots. Judging by the time, they should..."
The moment an image appeared on the display, the Giant Stick Insect's constantly writhing mouthparts abruptly froze.
"What is it?"
The abruptly cut-off words gave the Bosa Commander a bad feeling. "Did something happen to the small warships?"
"C-Commander..." The Giant Stick Insect responsible for recovering the small warships trembled slightly. It raised its two pairs of forelimbs and gently rubbed its eyes. "The Antimatter Storage Devices... have disappeared."
"What did you say?!" The Bosa Commander stared at the crew member beside it in disbelief and demanded, "Disappeared?!"
"How could perfectly intact antimatter storage equipment simply vanish into thin air?!"
The harsh rebuke made the crew member tremble even harder.
"They... they really have disappeared."
"The... the warships... We found several damaged sections inside the warships. It seems... it seems someone else got inside."
The Bosa Commander's expression shifted slightly. It hurried over to the crew member, raised a forelimb, and shoved it hard.
"Get out of my way!"
It barked the order.
Behind those merciless words was a face filled with sheer panic.
Just like the crew member, the Bosa Commander's two pairs of forelimbs trembled uncontrollably as it opened the data transmitted by the recovery robots.
Boom!
Its mind went utterly blank.
After a long while, two syllables surfaced in that blank mind.
"It's over..."
It muttered to itself, "Human Civilization
