The next moment, as a strange fluctuation emanated from the Cleaners Civilization's fleet, [Time]'s projection in the three-dimensional universe wavered as well.
"Damn it."
"The Cleaners are trying to open a wormhole!"
[Time]'s tone instantly grew urgent!
Because of its limited perception, [Thread] was slower to realize what was happening, but it, too, grew agitated.
The enormous ball of threads writhed much more violently in space.
"What are you waiting for?!"
"Open a wormhole, now!"
"We absolutely cannot let the Cleaners reach that region of space before us!"
Faced with [Thread]'s urging, [Time] snapped irritably, "Of course I know!"
"We're too close to them. Have you heard of wormhole interference?!"
[Thread] fell silent.
Although it had not mastered wormhole jump technology, as a level eight civilization, it still understood such basic knowledge.
When two wormholes were close together, there was an extremely high probability that they would interfere with each other.
They might merge, or dissipate...
Merging was a minor issue. If they dissipated, who knew where the two of them would end up!
Watching the spherical distortion in space gradually take shape in the distance, the ball of threads writhed ever more violently.
"So we're just going to stand here and watch?!"
Unwilling to accept this, [Thread] sent [Time] a message.
"Of course not." [Time] sneered. "Don't forget how the Cleaners acquired four-dimensional attack capabilities and wormhole jump technology."
"You mean... that bubble?" [Thread] froze for a moment, then realized what [Time] was implying.
"Of course." [Time]'s tone grew even more scornful. "I said back then that we couldn't let the Cleaners get their hands on that bubble."
"See? It took them only a hundred thousand years to extract four-dimensional attack technology and wormhole jump technology from it."
"Life wasn't nearly this hard for our Gardener Faction before."
