Ji Yang used his alchemy to strengthen Xiao Wu, aid Ye Lingling, and restore soul beasts, then spent three years cultivating in the Star Dou Great Forest. The arc left Da Ming and Er Ming transformed by new bloodlines and victorious over their two-hundred-thousand-year tribulations.

• Ji Yang refined the Flame Bird into a Phoenix Bird Soul Spirit, gained Phoenix Fire, and later transformed it into the healing Flame of Life.
• Ji Yang found Xiao Wu, warned her about Tang Hao, and convinced her to return with him to the Star Dou Great Forest, where she gained a thousand-year Soul Ring and Soft Bone Rabbit Soul Spirit.
• Xiao Wu introduced Ji Yang to Da Ming and Er Ming, and he promised to help the soul beasts and revive Ah Rou if he became a god.
• Ji Yang refined soul beasts and two scar-faced Soul Masters into pills, restoring the beasts and using the pills to strengthen his body, soul ring, and cultivation.
• Ji Yang recruited Ye Lingling into the Pill Tower, gave her a Life Sunflower Soul Spirit, and sent her home with pills and plans to seek whale rubber and befriend Dugu Yan.

Ji Yang brought the Auspicious Beast and Da Ming and Er Ming to the Sunset Forest, where he claimed the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well and used its herbs to strengthen his allies and recruit Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan. Ye Lingling gained the Goddess of Life’s succession trials while Ji Yang was chosen for the Asura trials, as Di Tian began investigating the True Dragon aura nearby.

• Ji Yang persuaded the Three-Eyed Golden Lion to obey him, then took her and Da Ming and Er Ming toward the Sunset Forest to seek herbs and help Xiao Wu mature.
• Ji Yang’s group encountered Qian Renxue and her attendants hunting a Holy Light Lion, and Ji Yang drove them away after warning Qian Renxue to pass a message to Bibi Dong.
• At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Ji Yang overwhelmed Dugu Bo and secured his and Dugu Yan’s agreement to join the Pill Tower if he cured their family’s poison.
• Ji Yang purified Dugu Bo and guided him toward forming a proper soul core, while Ye Lingling revealed her Pill Tower ties and Ji Yang began refining immortal herbs for the group.
• Ji Yang’s pills evolved Dugu Yan’s Jade Phosphor Snake into an Earth Saint Dragon, strengthened Da Ming and Er Ming, and helped Xiao Wu complete her human transformation.
• Ye Lingling evolved her Nine Heart Begonia into the Sacred Heart Begonia, which caught the Goddess of Life’s attention and earned her the life nine trials and the offer of divine succession.
• The Asura God offered Ji Yang the Asura nine trials, requiring him to obtain the Divine Slaughter’s Domain in Slaughter City, and Ji Yang told his companions he might help them seek Godhoods too.
• Da Ming completed his dragon transformation, while Di Tian sensed a True Dragon aura near the Sunset Forest and set out to investigate as Ji Yang ordered Er Ming to hunt powerful soul beasts for pill-making.
