Genya lounged on the living room sofa, both arms draped comfortably over its back.
Ino sat on his left, nestled against his chest, holding a strawberry up to his mouth.
Hinata sat on his right, blushing with her head lowered and her shoulder resting lightly against him. She held a cup of tea out to him.
Genya opened his mouth and ate the strawberry Ino offered, then took Hinata's tea and had a sip.
"Mmm, sweet."
Ino rolled her eyes at him.
"Is the strawberry sweet, or am I?"
Genya thought for a moment.
"The strawberry's sweet. But you're pretty."
Ino lightly punched his shoulder, but she couldn't suppress the smile tugging at her lips.
Hinata smiled beside them, her face flushed as though from the steam rising off the hot tea in her hands.
Genya tightened his left arm, drawing Ino closer against him.
With his right hand, he gently patted the back of Hinata's hand. Her lashes fluttered, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she leaned a little closer.
Naruto and Sasuke stood in the kitchen doorway, watching the scene with very different expressions.
Naruto opened his mouth, unsure what to say.
His mind raced, but he couldn't reach any conclusions.
He looked at Genya, then at Ino and Hinata, then back at Genya.
In the end, he settled for scratching his head in confusion.
Sasuke's face went from pale to livid, then darkened further, finally settling into an expression that said, "I want to kill someone, but I don't know who."
He clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white.
We're washing dishes, and he's enjoying himself. We're cleaning up the mess, and he's got a girl in each arm.
*We're working ourselves to death scrubbing the stove, and he's sitting here eating strawberries and drinking tea
