Yu Xiuyuan hadn't checked the food yet. He first dug out two headlamps and put one on Yun Chuan and one on himself. He was going out to gather firewood.
Only after quietly putting out the Blue-Flame Kerosene Stove, which Yu Xiuyuan hadn't even glanced at, did Yun Chuan follow him outside.
With no one in the tent, putting it out first was safer.
After a circuit of the area, Yu Xiuyuan came back carrying a few thin, damp branches, feeling rather speechless. This place was too clean. There was simply no firewood to be found.

Seeing Yu Xiuyuan looking so deflated, Yun Chuan opened the rear passenger door and hauled out one last enormous bundle.
There had been too much gear to fit in the trunk, so it had gone on the back seat.
With a glimmer of hope he hardly dared believe in, Yu Xiuyuan watched Yun Chuan open the bundle. Sure enough, it was a huge pile of firewood.
His eyes widened, and he threw himself into Yun Chuan's arms, planting two firm kisses on him:
"Hubby, you're amazing! I love you so much!"
Yun Chuan's eyebrows rose, his eyes lighting up. He clearly hadn't expected such an enthusiastic response.
After that burst of delight, another gleam crossed his eyes. It seemed deliberately hiding the firewood had been the right move. Surprises had to build on one another to get more of a response.
They carried the firewood into the tent, and Yu Xiuyuan eagerly set about lighting a fire.
Meanwhile, Yun Chuan laid an electric blanket beneath the sleeping bag, so they could turn it on anytime if they got cold during the night.
