"Get lost. Quit disgusting me, you ungrateful bastard. Move." Yu Xiuyuan sounded fierce.
"You're so mean, Little Yu. Considering how miserable I am too, could you forgive me? I only meant to play a joke back then, not hurt you."
"Don't call me that. I'm here for Su Ziming. Stop getting in my way."
Fang Yi stepped aside to let Yu Xiuyuan in, but stayed close, continuing to tease him. "How am I in your way? The three of us could form a Victims' Alliance. Wouldn't that be fun?"
Thinking about it, Yu Xiuyuan realized he had a point, and the idea made him laugh.
Then he thought about how embarrassing it was. "Go form your alliance. I can't live with that kind of humiliation."
Fang Yi led the way and gestured. "Su Ziming's staying in this room."
Yu Xiuyuan looked at him, switched off his microphone, and motioned for Fang Yi to do the same. "Wen Lin's already gone. What are you still doing here?"
Fang Yi smiled bitterly. "I really give up. Stop twisting the knife. I'm miserable enough already. I sincerely apologize. Everything I did before was my fault."
"Apologizing to me? That's not like you. Aren't you always strutting around like you're king of the world? You paid for smear articles about me, didn't you? Bet that cost you plenty."
"That mouth of yours. Why not just stab me to death? He fooled me too. I really thought you were rotten to the core."
He sighed, dropping his flippant grin.
"I stayed because I wanted to thank you properly. If you ever need anything, just ask. I'll help however I can."
"I know you only wanted to watch the drama, or make things difficult for Wen Lin, not help me. But without you, who knows how much longer he'd have kept fooling me?"
Yu Xiuyuan had mixed feelings.
He knew the answer. This idiot would have been fooled his whole life. Even after Wen Lin married into a wealthy family, he would still have kept fawning over him.
The thought left him a little disgusted, and he waved Fang Yi away. "All right, thanks accepted. Hurry home to your mommy."
"Home? No way. I can't face that humiliation." Fang Yi slipped back into his devil-may-care manner, turned both their microphones on, and knocked on the door.
If they left their microphones off any longer, Director Liu would come storming up.
The viewers watching the drama were getting impatient too.
"What are they saying? Why turn off their microphones?"
"The Victims' Alliance is hilarious."
"Fang Yi's teasing Yu Dog again. Has he switched his affections to Yu Dog?"
"Why's Yu Dog looking for Su Ziming? Wild guess: there's a new song coming. Already hyped. Don't let me down."
"Yu Dog can write songs? Who even knows where he plagiarized the previous ones from?"
"What shady stuff are those two saying with their microphones off? Let me hear it too. I'm not a person!"
"Enough, comment above."
After they waited a while, Su Ziming opened the door. Surprised to see them standing together outside, he froze.
Yu Xiuyuan was a little nervous, and his brain short-circuited.
"We're here to form a Victims' Alliance with you... Pfft, slip of the tongue."
He glared at Fang Yi, then turned to Su Ziming. "Can we talk in your room?"
Su Ziming nodded and went back inside. Fang Yi tactfully turned and left.
Yu Xiuyuan shut the door and took out the sheet music with his back to the camera. "Take a look at this."
Su Ziming took it and gestured for Yu Xiuyuan to sit down.
He turned his chair around, putting his back to the camera before opening it. At first, he looked calm, but within two minutes, his expression grew increasingly serious, and his back straightened more and more.
Over ten minutes later, he looked at Yu Xiuyuan. "This is for me?"
"Yes. This is my sincere apology."
Su Ziming was silent for a long time before speaking. "I really do need a good song right now. Are you sure you want to give it to me?"
"Of course."
"All right. I'll have my manager contact yours to discuss the revenue split. Do you have anything in mind?"
Yu Xiuyuan touched his microphone. Though a little embarrassed, he had no choice. He briskly switched it off again, then switched off Su Ziming's as well.
Su Ziming instinctively tried to dodge, but Yu Xiuyuan moved too fast for him.
Yu Xiuyuan checked the camera, making sure it couldn't capture his lips before continuing.
"No revenue split. I'm giving you this song for free."
"I can't accept that..." Su Ziming's voice rose. He paused, then lowered it again.
"Honestly, this song is better than I expected. I'm almost certain it'll be a hit. I can't take it for free."
Yu Xiuyuan raised a hand to stop him. "Hold it. If it weren't for me, you'd have become a top-tier singer two years ago."
"Even without that incident, I might not have gotten 'Listening,'" Su Ziming said frankly.
"Just think of it as giving me peace of mind." Yu Xiuyuan smiled at Su Ziming. This kid really was honest.
"Don't worry. I've got plenty of songs in me. I'll give you another one later, and you can give me a cut of that. There's really no need for this one."
Just then, someone knocked. The live comments had gone wild, and Director Liu couldn't take it anymore, so he'd sent someone to tell them to turn their microphones on.
Yu Xiuyuan laughed after hearing the staff member out, then obediently lowered his head and switched his on.
Su Ziming did the same, but kept insisting, "I really can't..."
Yu Xiuyuan couldn't handle him anymore and issued a threat. "Stop! If you don't want it, I'll give it to Wen Lin. I mean it."
Su Ziming's breath caught in his throat. That left him completely at a loss. What kind of outrageous move was that?
The finishing blow!
Su Ziming opened his mouth several times, trying to say something, but couldn't get a single word out.
Watching him struggle for ages without producing a word, Yu Xiuyuan couldn't stop laughing.
Honest kids were the easiest to handle.
Once he'd laughed enough, he coaxed him again. "Just take it without worrying. What other genres do you want? Ask away. I've got as many as you need."
Su Ziming listened to his outrageous boasting, yet he sounded utterly certain.
He stared for a long while, genuinely stunned, then finally nodded in agreement.
The live comments really had gone wild. Turning his microphone off again had already driven everyone crazy, and now he was claiming to have plenty of songs in him? They could even pick the genre? And he had as many as they needed?
"Aaaaaah! Can someone tell me what they just said?"
"Yu Dog, you really are a dog! Turning your microphone off again and even stopping the camera from reading your lips. I curse you with lifelong impotence!"
"Respect to the commenter above. You really don't hold back."
"Yu Dog really came to give Mingming a new song. Can't wait."
"Yu Dog's taking the bragging too far, isn't he? As many as he needs? Who dares say that?"
"What good songs could Yu Dog possibly have? He just got lucky before. Now he's pretending to be something he's not."
"Waiting for Yu Dog to crash and burn."
"Waiting for Yu Dog to crash and burn."
"At least Yu Dog has a bit of a conscience. Too bad he can't have any good songs."
"Hahahaha, I'm dying. If you don't want it, I'll give it to Wen Lin. Hahahaha, I'm dying! The finishing blow!"
"Scared Mingming into accepting it right away. Smooth move, Yu Dog."
"Repeat after me: if you don't want it, I'll give it to Wen Lin."
"Repeat after me: if you don't want it, I'll give it to Wen Lin."
"Repeat after me: if you don't want it, I'll give it to Wen Lin."
The viewers joined in on the joke, and before long, #IfYouDontWantItIllGiveItToWenLin# shot onto the trending list.
Competition for trending spots was incredibly fierce right now. Making the list was quite an achievement.
