When Qin Yuheng got off work, they agreed to go out for dinner together. This time, Qin Yuheng chose the place.
Usually, Yu Nian decided what they would eat. It was rare for Qin Yuheng to mention a restaurant he wanted to visit, so Yu Nian happily went along.
To his surprise, it was a familiar Chinese restaurant.
There was nothing particularly special about it, except that it was where he had first treated Qin Yuheng to dinner, which made it memorable.
Servers passed back and forth carrying plates, and the two of them happened to sit at the same table as before.
Back then, they had barely known each other. Now, they could meet each other's eyes and talk without reservation, their gazes brimming with tenderness.
A server brought over two iced drinks. Yu Nian raised an eyebrow, as though something had occurred to him.
Then Qin Yuheng said, "We didn't order these."
The server smiled. "It's Singles' Day today, so we're running a special promotion. Any customers who come in-"
Qin Yuheng took Yu Nian's hand, their matching rings gleaming under the lights.
Yu Nian felt a little bashful, but he didn't pull his hand away.
The server's smile remained unchanged. "Any couples who come in get two complimentary strawberry slushies, wishing you a sweet and loving relationship."
Qin Yuheng nodded. "Thank you."
Once the server left, Yu Nian lightly patted his hand, unable to keep from laughing. "You didn't deliberately pick this time and this restaurant just for these two slushies, did you?"
Qin Yuheng didn't deny it. "Would that be so bad?"
"It's all marketing. Don't take it seriously. If she thought we were single, she'd wish us luck finding someone. If she saw us holding hands, she'd wish us a sweet romance."
