Not really, Xie Zhou thought.
How long had he even known Ji Shan? They only had anything to talk about because they both followed Pei Zhengdu. They weren't even in the same major and barely crossed paths. They really weren't that close.
Just then, their other roommates returned one after another. Hearing the two arguing, they hurried to ask what had happened.
Ji Shan angrily told them about it.
The two roommates tried to reason with him. "Ji Shan, try to understand. He doesn't even know you. Adding him out of nowhere like that would be awkward."
"Don't be angry either, Xie Zhou. It's his first time meeting his idol, and he got too excited. He was bound to go a little overboard."
"Who went overboard?" Ji Shan shot back. "They're close enough to hang out alone together. What's wrong with bringing me along? I'm a longtime Du Zhou fan too, and I'm his roommate. He won't even help introduce us. That's a pretty lousy way to treat a friend."
The two roommates exchanged looks, at a loss for words.
The anger Xie Zhou had just managed to quell flared up again, but he didn't explode. He only said coldly, "Du Zhou doesn't want to be friends with you. Do you understand now?"
Ji Shan bristled. "You didn't even ask him. How would you know? What gives you the right to decide for him?"
"I can," Xie Zhou declared without a shred of shame.
Ji Shan wanted to say more, but their roommates hurried to intervene again.
It took quite a while before the argument in the dorm finally died down.
Xie Zhou promptly went to Pei Zhengdu to complain, telling him what had happened.
Pei Zhengdu replied: Want me to call you and tell him myself?
Xie Zhou said:
