Xie Zhou choked, his face flushing slightly. "I couldn't do that."
A Luo swiveled his chair around and looked at him in surprise. As though something had occurred to him, he couldn't help laughing. "Zhengdu, looks like you've been rejected."
Pei Zhengdu had always been able to brag about anything in front of his teammates, but now that Xie Zhou was actually here, he didn't quite dare get carried away, afraid of being exposed.
Luckily, his teammates didn't seem all that bright.
Afraid a few more words between them would give him away, Pei Zhengdu pulled Xie Zhou to his feet. "Come on."
It was Xie Zhou's first time in his room. The decor was fairly simple, but it was very clean.
The moment Xie Zhou saw the bed, he couldn't take another step. He yawned again.
Pei Zhengdu urged him to get into bed, then pulled the covers over him and tucked him in. "It's fine if you sleep a little longer. Qiao Yue and the others booked a private room at a restaurant tonight. They want you to come along for dinner."
Xie Zhou didn't stand on ceremony. He was unbearably sleepy, but as he looked at Pei Zhengdu in front of him, a faint reluctance to part stirred in his heart. He reached out and caught his wrist.
Pei Zhengdu lowered his eyes without saying anything.
Xie Zhou closed his eyes, forgetting that he still hadn't let go. Following his instincts, he nuzzled against Pei Zhengdu's hand. His warm, dry palm felt wonderfully comfortable and carried a scent unique to him. Xie Zhou felt utterly at ease and fell asleep in barely half a minute.
