Rumble, rumble, rumble!

With a series of engine roars, a red motorcycle sped toward them. Mo Fan and his classmate Zhou Min turned toward the sound and saw a figure bring the motorcycle to a stop.

Then he removed his helmet, revealing an extraordinarily handsome face. Mo Fan cried out in shock.

"Holy shit! Su, did you get plastic surgery?"

"Plastic surgery, my ass! Get to the point. What's wrong here?"

Su Miu snapped irritably, then got off the motorcycle and put his helmet away. He donned sunglasses and a black robe to conceal his face.

He had already looked like this when they met at Mingwen Girls' Middle School, so Mo Fan hadn't noticed his dramatic transformation.

"Is that... Su Miu?!"

Hearing him called "Su," Zhou Min's overloaded brain began churning. After a few mental turns, she quickly picked out the person surnamed Su from Mo Fan's circle of friends.

Zhou Min had met him before, too, but back then, Su Miu had only been somewhat handsome, with a cold, unapproachable air. Now they were telling her this impossibly handsome guy was Su Miu? What fucking plastic surgery clinic was this good? Give me a referral.

Su Miu: I went to Elder Yi's Gold of Life Plastic Surgery Clinic.

Although Su Miu's appearance had changed drastically, traces of his old features were still recognizable.

"Yep, this is Su Miu, the only Summoning System student at Tianlan Magic High School."

Mo Fan smiled and clapped him on the shoulder. Why venture out alone when he had a powerhouse to lean on? Wouldn't that just be suicide?

He wasn't confident enough to take on a demon beast alone yet. Su Miu brushed his hand away, then looked at Zhou Min.

"Tell me. What's wrong here?"

"Okay... Every night at midnight, my grandma hears earthquake-like rumbling from this factory."

"And I checked. Construction at this factory stopped a month ago. The construction crew couldn't be working in the middle of the night, either."

Su Miu nodded slightly at her explanation, then turned and headed toward the factory.

"Got it. Wait outside. No matter what you hear, don't come in. Mo Fan, come with me."

"You got it, Su."

At the mention of his name, Mo Fan eagerly followed. After all, Su Miu was an Advanced Hunter-a three-star Advanced Hunter, at that. Now that was someone he could rely on.

Nothing could go wrong if he followed the boss. Zhou Min, however, was somewhat worried and spoke up.

"Su Miu, won't it be too dangerous for just the two of you?"

"Relax, class monitor. Our Su here is a hunter mage. He can take down a demon beast all by himself."

"A hunter mage?! Isn't he still underage?!"

Zhou Min was stunned to hear that he was actually a hunter mage. Hunter mages were people who could fight demon beasts, after all.

"If you don't get moving, forget about getting any prize money."

While Mo Fan was still chattering away, a voice drifted over from the distance. Those words hit him right where it hurt, and he immediately ran over, shouting:

"Wait, wait, wait! Brother Su, I'm coming!"

Zhou Min watched the two walk away and ultimately decided to wait at the entrance to assist them. Since he was a hunter mage, she should listen to them.

Inside the factory, the two circled the outside of the buildings without finding anything. Eventually, they focused on the building at the center of the grounds.

"Su, the door's locked, but there's a window up there we can climb through."

After trying the handle, Mo Fan announced that the door was locked, then looked up at the window. Conveniently, a few exposed water pipes offered a way to climb up.

"No need."

Su Miu didn't even glance at the window. He reached out and gave the door handle a sharp twist.

Crack!

With a crisp crack, the door opened. Mo Fan stared, dumbfounded. Wait, what? How did you do that?

As Su Miu walked inside, Mo Fan instinctively looked at the handle. It had been crushed inward, as though an immense force had twisted it apart.

He sucked in a sharp breath, his scalp prickling. How much strength did it take to mangle a door handle like that?

"Don't just stand there."

Seeing him dazed, Su Miu called out a reminder while taking out Demon-Seeking Powder and scattering it. Mo Fan snapped out of it and immediately came closer.

They followed the direction in which the Demon-Seeking Powder drifted and spotted a huge pit. The demon beast seemed to be hiding inside.

"Fall back. Keep it pinned down from the rear."

Su Miu raised a hand, signaling for him to retreat and provide crowd control from behind. Mo Fan quickly nodded and moved back.

Su Miu also took out Demon-Repelling Powder and poured it straight into the pit. A moment later, a wolf's howl rang out, followed by tremors through the ground, as though something enormous was approaching.

"Stay alert!"

He warned him again. Mo Fan immediately began preparing a level-two Thunder Seal. That howl meant the approaching demon beast was a One-Eyed Demon Wolf, not the Giant-Eyed Blood Rats he usually killed with the City Demon Hunting Squad.

His Thunder Seal had recently reached the second level of the basic tier, so this was a good opportunity to test its power.

As they waited, an enormous dark shape burst out of the pit. Its five-meter frame came into view-it was an advanced-stage, servant-level One-Eyed Demon Wolf.

The One-Eyed Demon Wolf fixed its bloodthirsty gaze on Su Miu, who stood before it. It immediately howled, opened its jaws, and lunged to bite him.

Su Miu ducked and surged forward to evade it. At the same time, the Golden Dragon Spear appeared in his hand, and he drove it into the wolf's belly.

He slid beneath the One-Eyed Demon Wolf, successfully dodging its first attack.

Drip, drip!

Blood poured from the One-Eyed Demon Wolf's belly. The blow seemed to enrage it, and it turned, raised its sharp claws, and attacked again.

"Windwalking Boots!"

Su Miu immediately activated his Demon Traction Tool and effortlessly evaded its attacks. To his eyes, the One-Eyed Demon Wolf's movements had slowed countless times over. This was the power of Spiritual Power at the second realm.

Of course, most mages' bodies couldn't keep up once their Spiritual Power grew stronger. His physique far surpassed that of other mages.

Watching the whole exchange, Mo Fan was awestruck. As expected of an Advanced Hunter. He could handle such a terrifying One-Eyed Demon Wolf with ease. Since Su Miu had given him such a good opening to attack, he couldn't slack off.

"Thunder Seal: Wild Strategy!"

He immediately raised his hand, unleashing a level-two Thunder Seal that struck the One-Eyed Demon Wolf with pinpoint accuracy while Su Miu led it around like a dog on a leash.

"Roar!"

With an angry roar, the One-Eyed Demon Wolf was paralyzed. Mo Fan kept up his attack while Su Miu suddenly charged forward and leaped into the air.

"Die!"

With that cold shout, he drove the Golden Dragon Spear into the One-Eyed Demon Wolf's single eye.

Squish!

Blood sprayed out in torrents. Su Miu pushed harder, driving the Golden Dragon Spear deeper. At the same time, he channeled the level-two spell "Glass Flame: Fire Burst: Bone Incineration" through the spear and into its body.

Terrifying flames began burning inside the One-Eyed Demon Wolf's skull, searing straight through its brain. After two final twitches, it crashed to the ground, dead.

P.S. This is the second update for June 18, bringing the total to four thousand characters.
