Cold, shaking...

When Shuofang Si woke, he found himself somewhere other than his soft bed. The surface beneath him felt hard, and there was a strange chill to it.

The unfamiliar surroundings did not make him open his eyes immediately, though. He quietly felt the vibrations, while the muffled booms coming from below seemed to be the aftershocks of something enormous colliding.

Shuofang Si tried to recall what had happened earlier. Hadn't he been getting ready to climb a commercial high-rise barehanded? What was going on now?

How about we grab something to eat to celebrate Brother Si's climb tomorrow?

Huh, we're eating that? My family doesn't let me eat that stuff.

It's a Longjiang specialty. What's wrong with having some pink hippo with your Brother Si?

Exactly, it's just a short-nosed elephant. Boss, three large bowls.

As he recalled this, a line of information suddenly appeared in Shuofang Si's mind.

I've been granted the ability to travel through myriad worlds, and once I've accumulated enough spacetime energy, I'll travel to a random world?

Shuofang Si grew excited. Have I encountered something supernatural? Is the adventure I've always longed for finally starting?

Haha, finally, no more working nine to eight! Before this, I could only get out on Sundays and do some extreme sports to relieve the boredom.

With that thought, Shuofang Si opened his eyes.

Chaos filled his vision. The enormous circular arena around him resembled an ancient Roman coliseum, and the adjacent stands were packed with a dense sea of people.

But something was very wrong with the crowd. Some people were fleeing in panic, others were slumped asleep in their seats, and quite a few figures darted about among them, seemingly fighting.

Diagonally ahead of the arena, an enormous, translucent purple barrier stood on a rooftop like a rectangular building block.

Inside the barrier, he could vaguely make out two figures darting past each other at speeds beyond all reason.

Shuofang Si's gaze did not linger on that astonishing battle for long, however, because he noticed people lying all over the ground around him.

Only two people nearby were awake: a young man with a cigarette in his mouth and a vicious-looking scar on his face, and a male office worker who appeared to be in decent shape.

Shuofang Si looked at them, his pupils contracting slightly. This seemed a little familiar.

"Not bad. You're the best of this batch. Oh? Another one's awake."

Holy shit, could this be...

The cold voice came from the scarred, black-haired young man. He stood up, a cigarette between his fingers, and scrutinized the newly awakened Shuofang Si from head to toe.

Those words had already confirmed Shuofang Si's suspicions. At the same time, he noticed that when Zhang Jie spoke, his gaze was actually directed past him at Zheng Zha.

Zheng Zha had already risen from the ground. He looked around in panic, but the confusion in his mind quickly faded after a few breaths.

Your mental resilience really is outstanding, Shuofang Si thought. Just what I'd expect from you, Zheng Zha.

"Where are we? Who are you? Why am I here?" Zheng Zha had calmed himself by now and fired off a string of questions.

Zhang Jie took a deep drag on his cigarette, then stubbed it out on the hardwood seat beside him.

"Think carefully. He should have implanted everything in your mind." He slowly exhaled the smoke, his tone inscrutable.

Shuofang Si searched his memories as well and sensed the information about the Main God Space that had suddenly appeared in his mind.

Although he had already suspected as much, Shuofang Si still felt his composure crack.

Oh, for Chovy's sake! If you're sending me through myriad worlds, send me somewhere good! Why dump me straight into the Main God Space?

Fortunately, Shuofang Si considered adaptability one of his few strengths.

He took a deep breath, quickly accepted this awful reality, and looked down at the Main God Space watch on his wrist. All kinds of information were already displayed on it.

[World: Naruto] [Main quest: Survive until the end of the Konoha Crush. Quest completion: 1,000 base points. Quest failure: Erasure.] [Gain 500 points for each Genin killed.]

Huh? Naruto? What kind of heavily modded Main God Space is this? Where's my Resident Evil?

Still, with that sneaky bastard Zhang Jie here, the difficulty's bound to go up. He did pocket a few A-ranks, after all.

Shuofang Si looked around again. No wonder this scene seemed familiar. It's the Konoha Crush during the Chunin Ninja Exams.

But now he was getting a headache. If this had been ordinary Resident Evil, all the fanfiction and fan works he had seen would have given him a decent grasp of the standard strategy for the Hive map.

But this is clearly the starting lineup from the original Infinity novel. What's the point of stitching Naruto onto it?

Several men and women still lay on the ground. They woke one after another, their eyes filled with either wariness or confusion.

Apart from two unremarkable young men, Shuofang Si could actually make tentative guesses about everyone else's identity. The reason was simple: they were all far too distinctive.

There was an intellectual-looking girl wearing glasses, and a man who looked thin but whose taut body clearly showed signs of training.

There was also a woman in pajamas with a languid expression.

And finally, there was a quiet, refined-looking youth, though a closer look revealed slightly feminine features.

Looks like the Main God dumped a whole bunch of high-potential newcomers in this time. Interesting.

Meanwhile, Zhang Jie was explaining some of the basics of the Main God Space to them.

Shuofang Si could no longer remember some details from the original novel. He listened quietly, his mind racing.

Zheng Zha and the others, however, were still digesting the information, with wariness, fear, and various other emotions mingling on their faces.

"This time, the world is Naruto. Apparently, it's an anime. Have any of you seen it...?" Zhang Jie flicked off some cigarette ash and looked at the distant purple barrier, his expression turning grave.

"I have. It's a world with chakra energy and all kinds of miraculous ninja techniques. This should be during the Chunin Ninja Exams, when Konoha is attacked by Sunagakure and the Sound Ninja."

One of the men Shuofang Si had failed to recognize suddenly spoke.

"Oh? And you are? Tell us what we should do now, then. This protective barrier around us is about to disappear." Zhang Jie looked at him with interest, casually swinging the Desert Eagle in his hand.

"Li Shuai Xi. You can just call me Little Li, Brother Zhang. These ninjas all have supernatural powers. We're in the middle of a battle, and neither kunai nor ninja techniques care who they hit." Li Shuai Xi straightened his chest and began sharing what he knew.

"So we should hurry and take shelter. I remember the evacuation was shown in the original story. The shelter is over by Hokage Rock." He pointed at the four enormous faces carved into the distant cliff.

Just then, the protective barrier around the group suddenly vanished. Some of the previously unconscious spectators nearby also woke one after another, briefly throwing the scene into disorder.

Shuofang Si knew that Orochimaru's people had cast the Temple of Nirvana Technique earlier, putting most of the people in the arena to sleep. It seemed some time had passed since then.

Suddenly, a ninja wearing a green vest, with a forehead protector tied around his arm, landed in front of them.

"Everyone, hurry to the shelter!"

Understanding dawned on Zheng Zha and the others. This must have been the assigned identity mentioned in the information the Main God had placed in their minds.

"I... Aah!" An enormous Fūma Shuriken suddenly pierced the chest of the ninja, who appeared to be a Chunin, from behind. He spat out a mouthful of blood and clearly wasn't going to survive.

"Ah!" Apart from Zero and Zhao Yingkong, every newcomer in the group jumped in fright.

Faced with the gruesome scene before them and the smell of fresh blood nearby, the newcomers, who had still harbored some doubts about their surroundings, quickly grasped the reality of their situation.

"Let's go!" Zhang Jie roared, taking the lead as he ran toward the exit from the stands. After a moment's hesitation, the others chose to follow.

But after instinctively taking one running step after them, Shuofang Si stopped.

Wait, the identity the Main God gave me is a villager? A villager in this Naruto world?

I'm a villager of Konoha?
