The territories of the major quilboar factions were clearly defined. The Razorfen quilboar naturally occupied Razorfen Downs and Razorfen, bordering Thousand Needles. The stretch north of Razorfen Downs as far as the tauren's Ala'thuzad Camp was largely Steelmane quilboar territory, while the vast reaches of Desolace farther north of Ala'thuzad Camp were dotted with Razormane quilboar settlements.
These quilboar lived in scattered communities and were far from united. The tribal groups of Razormane quilboar were not all friendly toward one another, either; some fought among themselves. In short, Kalimdor's quilboar were a loose collection of factions that refused to acknowledge one another.
Trial Valley lay within Razormane territory, so most soldiers in the Auxiliary Burning Legion came from the Razormane quilboar, with a minority from the Steelmane and Razorfen factions.
The quilboar had been trained into an army. As a heavily armored force, every soldier wore armor, and their equipment was lavish. Of the six thousand troops, twenty-four hundred wore full suits of heavy plate armor and formed the army's fighting core. Twelve hundred wore full suits of polished armor, while the remaining twenty-four hundred wore only polished breastplates, short armored skirts, and helmets. Their weapons were also standardized military equipment, including shields, blades, bows, and spears.
As they marched in formation, the sounds of six thousand quilboar blended into a low roar that made the scalp prickle. They no longer fought as individuals, squealing at random as they once had. Instead, they advanced with heavy, synchronized steps, their armor clanking and their killing intent palpable.
Overall, they still fell short of an elite human heavy infantry army, but they were already quite impressive. The difference truly lay not in their equipment but in the soldiers themselves. The quilboar certainly did not lack killing intent. Not one who had survived
