Leaving aside Yu Lin Bloodhawk's bout of madness for the moment.
The Vilebranch trolls in Jintha'Alor City were in utter chaos.
Several days earlier, the Vile trolls' leaders in Jintha'Alor had already learned that a powerful elven force had arrived outside. That was why they had driven all the Vilebranch trolls in the valley into Jintha'Alor. They intended to turn those Vilebranch civilians into temporary militia-like units to block the elves' advance. Alternatively, once their forces outside sealed off the main route through the valley entrance, they could use their numerical advantage to wipe out the invading elven ground troops.
But no word had come from their forces outside, while the elves had sent only Flying Forces to bomb them relentlessly for several days. The hastily assembled Vilebranch troops already had low morale and poor discipline, and they lacked the resilience of regular soldiers.
After several days of bombardment by the elven Flying Forces, their morale could not have sunk any lower. Worse still, the elves dropped their bombs only on the densely populated lower three tiers. Not a single bomb had fallen on the top tier. Once the wooden huts, tents, and other structures had burned down, they kept dropping Incendiary Bombs.
So whenever the elven Flying Forces appeared, countless Vilebranch trolls on the lower three tiers either ran outside or charged toward the top tier. The soldiers could barely hold them back. More troubling still, the hastily assembled militia-like units joined them.
Many trolls had been burned or blasted to death, which actually solved Jintha'Alor's earlier food shortage. Trolls were not picky about raw or cooked food. Whether a troll's corpse had been burned or blown apart, they would eat it as long as it did not kill them.
The food problem had been solved, but an even
