Although the Infernals were powerful, they were terribly clumsy. They had excellent physical defenses, fel fire that could burn everything, and unmatched strength and physical attack power, but they were not particularly fast runners. When the elves surrounded the orcs again in the center of the plain, the three Infernals still had not emerged from the fiercely burning woods. Yet three blazing trails showed that they, too, were about to break out of the trees and reach the plain.
The orcs stopped running. They knew they could not escape the encirclement. The elves' mounts were all in good condition and moved swiftly, while almost every orc mount had arrows embedded in its body. The elves had coated their arrows with deadly poison, and the orcs' Worgs were beginning to react sluggishly. So the Orc Wolf Riders stopped and formed ranks.
