The orcs were horrified. How could they keep standing back to back now? They could only turn together to face nearly a hundred Iron Beasts.
The elven recruits of the Bloodhawk Burning Legion naturally knew these were the Bloodhawk veterans' battle pets, and cheers erupted among them.
"Don't just cheer!" Yu Lin Bloodhawk shouted. "Shoot! Shoot! Aim and hit those bastards!"
The elves drew their bows and nocked their arrows. The sight of more than two thousand elves doing so at once was spectacular.
Yu Lin Bloodhawk did not nock an arrow, but he, too, was looking for an opening to strike.
The orcs had nowhere to go, but that only brought out their savagery.
"Kill!" the orcs roared, lunging at the armored war bears, a faint red glow rising from their palms.
"Holy shit! They've even used their innate Berserk skill!" Yu Lin Bloodhawk exclaimed.
An orc's axe struck a war bear's armor, throwing up showers of sparks. The blow knocked the armored bear off balance, sending it toppling sideways and wounding it.
With the momentum of its charge, a war bear could also send an armored orc flying with one swipe, leaving him coughing up blood. But the bears had masters who could heal them with spells, allowing them to fight while receiving magical healing. The orcs had no such help! The wounded bears roared furiously, their savagery mounting as they attacked the orcs with every ounce of strength they had.
That was not the end of the orcs' misery. The Bloodhawk veterans leading those war bears were nothing like the inexperienced Bloodhawk recruits. Although their arrows could not pierce plate armor as Yu Lin Bloodhawk's could, they could punch through chainmail and sink roughly two inches into an orc's body, inflicting considerable damage.
