Damn it, gorillas were good stuff! Tarzan the Ape-Man, for crying out loud—they could even swat planes out of the sky! If they didn't want them, I sure as hell wasn't giving up on them. There had to be more than two hundred of those things. Did they want black panthers? If not, I'd give them to Quel'Danil City's defense force. They only had to defend the city; leopards would be enough.

The City Lord Guard couldn't use those. I had to outfit it as a proper mountain force, with the same standard equipment as the Bloodhawk Burning Legion. If there weren't any tigers, I'd go to Kalimdor and catch lions.

Hmph! If the war reached my City Lord Guard, I'd probably be running for my life!

Equipment for fighting on the plains would be useless by then. I'd have to flee into the mountain forests, so they needed mountain-combat equipment. Even giving them all dire wolves would do.

After working through the numbers, he figured that at least everyone in Bloodhawk and the Expeditionary Army Corps could have a battle pet. Since that was the case, he couldn't put this off. Besides, he had promised the Golden Mist Burning Legion's people, too!

But how was he going to catch them? Use the same poisoned arrows as before? That would mean chasing them for some distance! Stranglethorn Vale wasn't like other places. It was far too chaotic! There were too many hostile trolls, plenty of bandits, and a lot of man-eating thorn vines. The dangers were considerable!

It would have been easier if he had already established a foothold there. As things stood, going in would mean stumbling around blind. Although Fourteen had spent quite some time working there, their intelligence was still clearly inadequate!
