He feared that if the Vilebranch Trolls learned of the Elves' internal strife, they would seize the opportunity to counterattack. They had signed an alliance, but there had been little meaningful contact yet, and he still could not trust the Vilebranch Trolls completely.
The human soldiers could not participate either. They had to keep watch over the Troll soldiers. There were plenty of Trolls aboard the fleet, and he had no intention of losing a fleet just to stage a coup. His only option was to send someone to ask the Wildhammer Dwarves forging armor up in Quel'Danil City for help.
