"Both sides have massed huge numbers of troops on either side of the strait, and the decisive battle could break out at any moment. Why would you take so many people there?" Yu Lin Bloodhawk asked.
"That's exactly why we have to go! We came here to take part in the war," Alleria said matter-of-factly.
"Don't be foolish! A decisive battle on that scale demands close coordination between armies, and an even stronger unified command. Yes, the Quel'Thalas Expeditionary Army Corps has the right to act independently, but what will you do once you join the battle? Will you obey Allied Command or not?
"I'm telling you, the orcs will break through the Arathi Strait defensive line. The entire Kingdom of Arathi will eventually become one enormous battlefield. If Allied Command orders your Expeditionary Army to hold one side of the strait on your own, just like last time, what will you do?
"Retreat? Then they might pin the blame for the defeat on the Expeditionary Army Corps. Fight them head-on? We're rangers. Can we win that kind of fight? Even if we can, how many of us will die? We elves excel at guerrilla warfare, not positional warfare!
"If you insist on going, you'd be better off going to Proudmoore. Menethil Harbor has the sea at its back, so you can withdraw at any time. It also has tall walls and defensive fortifications, allowing us elves to make full use of our advantage in ranged attacks.
"Most importantly, there aren't that many Alliance troops there. Once your Expeditionary Army arrives, you'll at least have equal standing in command with the overall commander, Admiral Daelin of Proudmoore. You won't have to worry about them setting you up, either, and my Hinterlands Fleet can support you at any time," Yu Lin
