In fairness, trolls were quite formidable individually. What they lacked was discipline; they were little more than a rabble. The elves did not know whether the Wildhammer Dwarves of the western army had encountered the same problem, or how they had solved it. But that was not their concern. Two hundred elven officers of various ranks were now stationed in Shalvalsa, supervising training on the ground and working to integrate with the Vilebranch Troll soldiers as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the Elf Forces in Quel'Danil had already set out for Shalvalsa. Once they arrived, they would still need some time to practice fighting alongside the Vilebranch Trolls.
Once the armor refurbishment was complete, the Vilebranch Trolls would all be issued their new equipment before heading to the front. In the meantime, those in Shalvalsa had another month to train. A month was hardly enough to teach them much; it would only cover marching formations, military posture, and a few of the simplest battle formations.
Marching formations and military posture might not seem directly related to improving combat strength, but that was not the case. Quite the opposite: they were currently the fastest way to improve the fighting strength of these undisciplined Vilebranch Trolls.
