"Judging by the Orcs' movements so far, I don't think the first possibility is very likely. If they wanted to help the Zul'Aman Trolls capture Silvermoon City, they wouldn't bypass Farstriders Camp. They would join the Zul'Aman Trolls in taking the camp first, eliminating the threat to the combined forces' supply lines before continuing north or west.
"Otherwise, the combined forces of the Orcs and Zul'Aman couldn't possibly leave a large force to guard against the troops at Farstriders Camp while also sending part of their army to attack Silvermoon City. If they tried that, even splitting their forces wouldn't let them capture a city as heavily fortified as Silvermoon City.
"I don't know whether the Orcs understand that, but the Zul'Aman Trolls certainly do. That makes the first possibility unlikely, so I lean more toward the second or third.
"If it's the second or third possibility, then the Orcs must be desperate to find the main force of our High Elf army and settle the battle quickly. Even if all they did was defeat the main Ranger force in Southern Eversong Woods in Quel'Thalas, they could swiftly pull out and turn toward Lordaeron with a clear conscience, without letting their allies down.
"Otherwise, if this drags on long enough for the Alliance army or the Kingdom of Lordaeron to prepare, this surprise attack will lose its purpose entirely.
"And that would fully explain why both elite Orc combat legions bypassed Farstriders Camp and advanced toward the Eastern Sun Temple. They don't have much time! They're desperate for a decisive battle! They're desperate to get to Lordaeron!"
