"Yes!" the six Mountain Lion Nightstalkers answered in unison, then each headed toward their assigned target.

The ten Frostwolf Rangers of the Windrunner Burning Legion, mounted on white frost wolves, had remained perfectly still. They watched silently as the Mountain Lion Nightstalkers killed every surviving Orc Wolf Rider as though slaughtering helpless livestock. At last, one of the Frostwolf Rangers spoke.

She frowned and asked, "Do you really have to do this? They can't fight back anymore. You could have an owl notify the troops in the rear to send someone to take them back under guard."

The Mountain Lion Nightstalkers' deputy leader looked up at the Frostwolf Ranger and said coldly, "We don't have time. Both your people and ours need to hurry back to meet the leader. We still have work to do, so they have to die!"

The Frostwolf Ranger who had spoken shook her head. "I really don't know what that human rogue instructor taught you. You've become like this... I barely recognize you anymore."

"They only taught us how to survive longer on the battlefield," the Mountain Lion Nightstalkers' deputy leader said expressionlessly, turning to look back at the other Nightstalkers.

"Deputy leader, what about those worgs?" one of the Nightstalkers asked, pointing at the worgs that were still alive.

"Kill them!" the Mountain Lion Nightstalkers' deputy leader said. "Enemy reinforcements are very close now. Anything we can't take, we can't let the enemy have either."

The shower of crystals from the Voidwalker demon's shattered body finally stopped. The Orc Wolf Rider Squadron had also calmed its restless worgs, and the entire squadron fell quiet once more.

The Orc Wolf Rider Company Commander stared blankly at the great crater blasted into the road ahead when the first Voidwalker exploded. Thoughts raced through his mind.
