The Rangers in the Northern District were still clearing out the Ogres, but Sylvanas, Onyxia, and Yu Lin Bloodhawk had already brought a small squad of Frostwolf Rangers to rendezvous with Sorens, the Old Charlatan.
After a brief conversation with Sorens, Sylvanas sent for another squad of Frostwolf Rangers and a squad of Rangers from the City Lord's Household Guard with boar battle pets. Then the entire group hurried toward the Library.
The Library was a vital link between the Western District and the Northern District, as well as a major objective of Yu Lin Bloodhawk and Sylvanas's expedition. More importantly, it was the Old Charlatan's pride and joy. It housed a vast collection of documents from the era of Azshara's Elf Kingdom, and none of those treasures could be allowed to suffer any damage in this conflict.
For High Elves, and even humans, these records were in some ways more valuable than everyone in Dire Maul put together. The collection contained not only ordinary documents from the golden age of Azshara's Elf Kingdom, but also many long-lost spells and studies of magical theory.
The Library was still within the territory controlled by the Commoner District. In their pursuit of magical energy, the deranged Setore and his lackeys had long since forgotten their original commitment to its treasures. They would rather deploy heavy forces against their own people than concentrate their strength on defending against the Ogres. Otherwise, why would they have resorted to negotiating with them?
With Morina and the others guiding them, the group quickly took control of the Library and stationed guards. Only then did everyone have time to discuss their next steps in detail.
Morina brought the leader of the Resistance Organization formed by Dire Maul's Highborne High Elf commoners to meet Sylvanas and her companions.
