He simply could not understand it. Prince Thalor and his subjects had absorbed fel for thousands, even tens of thousands of years without growing horns, so why had the Blood Elves become demonized after just a few years? And those horns were so ugly. It was fucking bizarre.
If he was going to learn, he had to learn from Prince Thalor, not Illidan! Illidan was taking drugs; Prince Thalor was only smoking! Whether it was harmful or not, others had done it for thousands upon thousands of years without trouble. The High Elves of Quel'Thalas only lived for three hundred years. How much harm could it really do?
Once all the newly arrived Elves had sworn their loyalty.
Yu Lin Bloodhawk smiled. "Since you've pledged your loyalty to me, I'll entrust my life to you as well. There are exactly six hundred of you, just enough to form a force. Let's call it the Bloodhawk Guard Force! That's only our internal name, though. We won't use it publicly, at least not in Quel'Thalas. Having the king and the council come after me would be quite a headache."
The Elves burst into laughter.
Once their laughter subsided, Yu Lin Bloodhawk said, "We'll organize it like a regular force: three battalions, six squads, twelve teams, and sixty detachments. The First Squad can publicly identify itself as the Bloodhawk Household Guard, while the other squads will use a different name: the Shalandis Expedition Team. After a while, once I've taken the current Bloodhawk Regiment through a battle, its members can return to their original units. I expect that'll be the end of my time as regiment commander, too. Then I'll just be a baron, with plenty of time to take you exploring all over the world."
"My lord, are we really going abroad?"
