Ch. 1Ten Shadows

Ze Zenin, the Zenin Clan’s Ten Shadows prodigy, trained under Toji while unlocking abilities from the Sasuke Uchiha template. He tamed Piercing Ox and prepared to summon Round Deer.

  • At Ze’s birth, Naobito recognized his Divine Dogs as proof that he had inherited the Ten Shadows Technique and named him the Zenin Clan’s next Clan Head.
  • The Gojo Clan learned that a Ten Shadows user had been born alongside the Six Eyes’ return, then ordered the news suppressed.
  • Seven years later, Ze discovered that his system had granted him lightning and fire cursed energy and Amenotejikara, and he practiced combining Nue’s wings with the Divine Dog.
  • Ze used Toads, Chidori, and his Sharingan to tame Piercing Ox, impressing Toji.
  • Toji told Ze to summon Round Deer, and Ze began the summoning.

Ch. 2Talking Reason

Ze Zenin fused six Shikigami into a Chimera Beast, helping Toji defeat Round Deer before Ze learned Reverse Cursed Technique. He confronted Ogi Zenin over his hostility toward Toji, then left with his mother after warning his father to reconsider his schemes.

  • Ze Zenin summoned the Chimera Beast, and Toji fought Round Deer alongside it until Ze summoned the deer and learned Reverse Cursed Technique.
  • Ogi Zenin planned to drive Toji out of the Zenin Clan, but Toji confronted him and warned him to behave.
  • Ze Zenin asked Sawa's Mother whether she would love children without cursed energy, and she assured him she would love her own children.
  • Ze Zenin confronted Ogi Zenin about his feud with Toji and revealed that Toji could help him tame Mahoraga.
  • Ze Zenin threatened Ogi Zenin with Chidori, then left with his worried mother after telling Ogi to think carefully.

Ch. 3Going out

Ze Zenin persuaded Naobito Zenin to let him leave the clan grounds, while Toji planned to visit his wife. In Shinjuku, the young Satoru Gojo frightened two curse users and noticed a black-haired boy with the Ten Shadows Technique.

  • Ze Zenin asked Toji to take him out, and Toji agreed to help him convince Naobito Zenin.
  • Ze Zenin reviewed his Sasuke template’s progress and told Toji he wanted to live the life he chose.
  • Naobito Zenin initially forbade Ze Zenin from leaving because of the bounty on the Six Eyes, but changed his mind after seeing Ze’s Chimera Beast and learning he had tamed nine shikigami.
  • Toji told Ze Zenin to go out alone while he went to see his wife, and Ze teased him about being unable to beat him.
  • In Shinjuku, Jiro Awasaka and Granny Ogami prepared to target the young Satoru Gojo, but his gaze made them retreat in fear.
  • Satoru Gojo continued walking and noticed a black-haired boy who appeared to use the Ten Shadows Technique.

Ch. 4My name

Ze Zenin met young Satoru Gojo in a bookstore, where they fought off a curse user and began to recognize each other as equals. As the boys introduced themselves, a stitched-forehead man watched them and reaffirmed that Satoru was his target.

  • Ze Zenin noticed a Curtain around the bookstore and spoke with Satoru Gojo, who said two curse users had been too frightened to attack him.
  • A curse user with a speed technique wounded Satoru, but Satoru used Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue to crush the attacker and destroy the bookstore.
  • Ze Zenin killed the injured curse user with Chidori, raising his Sasuke Uchiha template completion by twenty percent.
  • Satoru suspected Ze was a Zenin with the Ten Shadows Technique, and the boys exchanged their names.
  • A stitched-forehead man watched Ze and Satoru, wondered whether they would repeat the ancient Gojo-Zenin duel, and focused on Satoru as his target.

Ch. 5The Three Great Families

At the Gojo Clan’s gathering for Satoru Gojo’s seventh birthday, Ze Zenin and Satoru reunited while Toji Zenin watched them from afar. Naobito Zenin then called Ze and Satoru aside to tell them about a battle from four hundred years ago.

  • Toji Zenin observed Satoru Gojo and Ze Zenin at the Gojo Clan estate, then left without getting involved in the gathering.
  • Ze Zenin discussed the Gojo estate with Naobito Zenin and rejected the idea of becoming clan head unless he tamed Mahoraga.
  • Satoru Gojo greeted Ze Zenin, and the two bickered about Limitless, domains, and cursed tools.
  • Satoru Gojo’s father welcomed the guests, and a Kamo Clan member taunted Naobito Zenin about the Zenin Clan’s lack of a recent Ten Shadows user.
  • Ze Zenin learned that Satoru Gojo had kept his cursed technique secret from his family, and Naobito Zenin summoned both boys to discuss a battle from four hundred years earlier.

Ch. 6The genius from four hundred years ago

Naobito Zenin revealed that the Zenin and Gojo clan heads from four hundred years ago had once been close friends before a suspected plot drove them into a deadly duel and began the clans’ feud. At a gathering, Satoru Gojo defeated Kamo Sheng in a sparring match and named Ze Zenin, the Ten Shadows user, as the strongest person he knew.

  • Naobito Zenin told Ze Zenin and Satoru Gojo that the clans’ ancestors had been close friends, but suspicions of manipulation and jealousy turned them into enemies.
  • Naobito Zenin urged Ze Zenin and Satoru Gojo to preserve their bond and prevent the clans from fighting to the death.
  • A Gojo Clan elder brought Satoru Gojo to a sparring match, where he faced Kamo Sheng, a user of Blood Manipulation.
  • Kamo Sheng attacked with True Flow and Flowing Red Scale, but Satoru Gojo used maximum-output Blue to pull him off balance and knock him from the arena.
  • Satoru Gojo told Kamo Sheng that Ze Zenin was the strongest person he knew.

Ch. 7I lost

Ze Zenin defeated Satoru Gojo in a public duel by combining his Ten Shadows technique with a wide array of attacks, and his fame began to rise alongside Gojo’s. Kenjaku watched the two young sorcerers and underestimated Ze, a decision he would later regret.

  • Kamo Sheng accepted his loss to Satoru Gojo, and Ze Zenin stepped forward to challenge him.
  • Ze Zenin overwhelmed Gojo with shikigami, teleportation, fire, lightning, and taijutsu, eventually forcing Gojo to surrender.
  • Ze Zenin explained how he fused shikigami while preserving their abilities, and he hinted that someone would teach Gojo Reverse Cursed Technique.
  • Jujutsu Society began calling Ze Zenin the Ten Shadows Divine Child, and his name appeared on the Bounty Board beside Gojo’s.
  • Kenjaku infiltrated the gathering, dismissed Ze’s abilities, and grew more wary of Gojo than of Ze.

Ch. 8Leaving

Toji Zenin left the clan after finding someone important to him, giving Ze Zenin the Soul Liberation Blade as a parting gift. After Toji departed, Naoya Zenin confronted Ze and experienced the overwhelming power of his illusion.

  • Toji told Ze Zenin he was leaving the clan because he had lost faith in its ability to accept others, and Ze urged him to care for his wife and son.
  • Toji gave Ze the Soul Liberation Blade and left, while Ze warned him not to face Satoru Gojo’s techniques head-on.
  • Ogi Zenin celebrated Toji’s departure and asked Naoya about his Projection Sorcery training, revealing his ambition to become clan head.
  • Naoya went to the mountain to meet Ze, eager to judge the Ten Shadows Divine Child for himself.
  • Ze overwhelmed Naoya with a surge of cursed energy and a red-eyed illusion, leaving Naoya convinced Ze was far beyond his ability to resist.

Ch. 9Enrolling at Jujutsu High

Ze Zenin attended his first day at Jujutsu High with Satoru Gojo, Shoko Ieiri, and Suguru Geto, where Masamichi Yaga introduced himself as their homeroom teacher. The chapter ended as Ze Zenin and Satoru Gojo agreed to spar so Yaga could assess their abilities.

  • After Ze Zenin's teacher left, Satoru Gojo visited him at the Zenin Clan estate and kept pestering him to join cursed spirit exorcism missions.
  • In April 2005, Ze Zenin arrived at Jujutsu High and met first-year Shoko Ieiri, then brought her to the classroom, where she met Suguru Geto.
  • Satoru Gojo climbed through the classroom window, greeted Ze Zenin, and asked Shoko Ieiri to teach him Reverse Cursed Technique; Shoko mocked his lack of talent.
  • Masamichi Yaga introduced himself as the students' homeroom teacher and asked the students to choose sparring partners for an assessment.
  • Ze Zenin challenged Satoru Gojo to spar, and Satoru accepted while Suguru Geto and Shoko Ieiri watched with curiosity.

Ch. 10A long-overdue spar

Zenin Ze and Satoru Gojo sparred at Jujutsu High, where Ze used his incomplete domain to bypass Limitless and defeat Gojo. Afterward, Ze sent Gojo after Suguru Geto, while Shoko reflected on her new classmates and messaged Utahime that she had met some pretty great people.

  • Zenin Ze revealed that he had reached the threshold of a domain, and Suguru Geto and Masamichi Yaga predicted he would beat Satoru Gojo.
  • Satoru Gojo used Blue to draw Ze close and tried to exploit his preference for close-range attacks, but Ze escaped and counterattacked with fire and lightning techniques.
  • Gojo used multiple Blues and Limitless to stop Ze, but Ze activated Domain Amplification and punched through Limitless to win the spar.
  • Gojo complained about the loss, and Zenin Ze challenged Suguru Geto to fight; Geto fled, and Gojo chased after him.
  • Shoko watched her classmates, reconsidered her earlier doubts about Jujutsu High, and emailed Utahime that she had met some pretty great classmates.

Ch. 11Stories

Ze Zenin entertained his classmates with a story about Naruto and Sasuke, then told Shoko Ieiri a pony tale after she brought him cola. After Shoko fell asleep against him, Ze took her to a hotel and left to visit home, while she woke and secretly relished the evening.

  • Shoko, Utahime, and Mei Mei joined Ze Zenin, Satoru Gojo, and Suguru Geto as Ze told them how Sasuke defected from Konoha to join Orochimaru.
  • Ze stopped the story at a cliffhanger and left the classroom, and Shoko followed him outside with a cup of cola.
  • Shoko asked how Ze had invented his story, and he teased her before offering to make it up to her with a tale about Twilight Sparkle.
  • Shoko fell asleep against Ze as he told the pony story, so he covered her with his jacket and carried her to a five-star hotel.
  • Ze tucked Shoko into bed and left to visit home, while Shoko woke, blushed at the memory of him, and began composing an email to Utahime.

Ch. 12The days of youth

Ze Zenin crushed Ogi Zenin’s bid for power in the Zenin Clan, then returned to Jujutsu High and watched Satoru Gojo defeat Suguru Geto. The chapter ended with Ze teasing Gojo about being “number two,” leaving the students laughing at Gojo’s embarrassment.

  • Maki and Mai told Ze Zenin that the clan had refused to teach them taijutsu, so he called Naoya and ordered the Hei to help purge Ogi Zenin’s faction.
  • The Hei and the Kukuru Unit dismantled Ogi Zenin’s network, ending his hopes of becoming clan head.
  • Ze left Jinichi Zenin and Naoya Zenin in charge of clan affairs while he returned to Jujutsu High.
  • Satoru Gojo overpowered Suguru Geto in their sparring match, while Ze and the others watched and placed bets.
  • Ze joked that Gojo being number two was stranger than being number three, making the students laugh and leaving Gojo furious.

Ch. 13Mahoraga

In 2006, Ze Zenin began the ritual to tame Mahoraga, using his varied techniques to fight the shikigami as it adapted to his attacks. As the battle continued, Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko Ieiri waited for Ze at Jujutsu High, with Gojo hinting that Ze was about to make a major move.

  • Naobito Zenin and Jinichi Zenin worried that Ze Zenin would attempt to tame Mahoraga, while Ogi Zenin secretly hoped Mahoraga would kill him.
  • Ze Zenin reassured Sawa's Mother, Maki, and Mai that he would return alive, then went to the mountain clearing to begin the ritual.
  • Ze summoned Mahoraga and attacked with Majestic Destroyer Flame, toads, Chidori, and other techniques, but Mahoraga healed and began adapting.
  • Ze used Piercing Ox and a place-switching trick to smash Mahoraga into the mountain, then watched the shikigami recover from his injuries and adapt further.
  • At Jujutsu High, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto waited for Ze, and Gojo told Geto that Ze was about to stir things up.
  • Shoko Ieiri joined Gojo and Geto and asked what they were discussing.

Ch. 14Successfully tamed

Ze Zenin used his newly revealed Shadow Shrine domain and a devastating Kirin strike to tame Mahoraga, though the attack left him unconscious and nearly out of cursed energy. Meanwhile, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto received a mission to find the missing Utahime Iori and Mei Mei.

  • Ze Zenin opened his Shadow Shrine domain and used its sure-hit water attacks to repeatedly pierce Mahoraga as it regenerated.
  • Ze Zenin summoned Nue’s wings and unleashed the lightning technique Kirin, obliterating much of the mountain and Mahoraga’s Dharma Wheel.
  • Ze Zenin confirmed that he had tamed Mahoraga, then lost consciousness from exhaustion.
  • Naobito Zenin and Naoya Zenin arrived at the ruins, while Ogi Zenin watched Ze Zenin coldly.
  • Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto received a mission to support the missing Utahime Iori and Mei Mei.

Ch. 15Hidden Inventory Arc (I)

Utahime Iori and Mei Mei investigated a haunted house where people had disappeared, only to discover they were trapped inside a cursed spirit’s looping barrier. They escaped by running in opposite directions, but Utahime ended up buried in rubble as Mei Mei teased her.

  • Utahime explained that people, including three elementary school students, had vanished after entering a haunted house, and Mei Mei agreed to investigate for a fee.
  • Mei Mei and Utahime entered the house and split up to search its floors, with Utahime nervously exploring alone.
  • Utahime found no cursed spirit and fled when three rats rushed out from beneath a bed, then Mei Mei revealed that the hallway looped and they had been walking inside the cursed spirit’s belly.
  • Utahime and Mei Mei figured out that running in opposite directions could expose a flaw in the barrier, then sprinted apart as the rooms warped and collapsed.
  • Utahime fell into the ruins and struggled out from under rubble while Mei Mei asked if she was crying.

Ch. 16Hidden Inventory Arc (II)

After escaping a cursed spirit’s time-distorting barrier, Gojo, Geto, and Shoko returned to Jujutsu High and argued about their duties as sorcerers. Their plan to visit the Zenin Clan was interrupted when Yaga assigned them a mission involving the Star Plasma Vessel.

  • Gojo, Geto, and Shoko rescued Utahime and Mei Mei from a cursed spirit, then realized the barrier had made two days pass for them.
  • Mei Mei pointed out that they had failed to put up a Curtain, and Yaga scolded Gojo for neglecting the mission’s precautions.
  • Gojo and Geto argued over whether jujutsu sorcerers had a duty to protect non-sorcerers, while Shoko recalled Ze Zenin’s words about sorcerers’ place in the world.
  • Gojo suggested visiting the Zenin Clan, and Geto and Shoko agreed to go with him.
  • Yaga stopped the three students and told them the Higher-Ups had requested them for a mission involving the Star Plasma Vessel.

Ch. 17Hidden Inventory Arc (III)

Ze Zenin woke from his coma, reassured his mother, and celebrated taming Mahoraga with Naobito Zenin and Naoya. After wondering about a powerful cursed spirit in Southeast Asia and a possible trap, he prepared to leave, warning his sleeping teacher not to die before he returned.

  • Jogo and Hanami recruited a newly encountered blue-haired cursed spirit, telling him that their king was about to be born.
  • Ze Zenin woke from his coma, found Maki and Mai asleep beside his bed, and told his worried mother he was fine.
  • Ze Zenin reflected on his rivalry with Ogi Zenin and visited Naobito Zenin, where he found Naoya hiding.
  • Ze Zenin drank with Naobito Zenin and Naoya, and Naobito promised to request Special Grade status for him.
  • Ze Zenin considered the unexplained cursed spirit presence in Southeast Asia, suspected a possible lure, and prepared to leave after saying good night to Maki and Mai.

Ch. 18A New Enemy

Ze Zenin attacked the cursed spirits in Malaysia, grievously injuring Jogo, Hanami, and Mahito before Jogo and Mahito escaped through mysterious portals. The spirits regrouped around a cursed womb that Hanami believed would lead them to victory.

  • Ze Zenin tracked the cursed spirits to a cave in Malaysia and confronted Mahito, Hanami, and Jogo.
  • Ze Zenin used Amaterasu and close combat to badly injure Jogo and Mahito, while Hanami escaped by cutting off her arm.
  • Jogo summoned a meteor, but Ze Zenin shattered it with Chidori as Jogo and Mahito fled through black-and-red openings.
  • Ze Zenin searched the cave and suspected the openings were created by a spatial cursed technique.
  • The three cursed spirits regrouped beside an embryo, and Hanami revealed a cursed womb she believed would bring them a leader and new allies.

Ch. 19Hidden Inventory Arc (Part Four)

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto protected the Star Plasma Vessel from attackers while Ze Zenin remained unconscious, and Toji Fushiguro accepted a contract to assassinate her. Toji planned to wait for the sorcerers to be worn down before confronting them.

  • Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto learned from Shoko that Ze Zenin had been unconscious for two days, but assumed his Reverse Cursed Technique would keep him safe.
  • Suguru Geto entered the building where the Star Plasma Vessel was hiding, survived an explosion, and jumped after the falling girl while Satoru Gojo confronted Baier.
  • Satoru Gojo defeated Baier, and Suguru Geto showed the captured curse user Kekun a photo of Baier beaten before ordering Fungus to torment him.
  • Shiu Kong offered Toji Fushiguro money to assassinate the Star Plasma Vessel, and Toji agreed to take the job after deciding to let the attackers wear down her protectors first.

Ch. 20Hidden Inventory Arc (V)

Kenjaku worried that Ze Zenin’s strength threatened his plans and decided to deepen his cooperation with the cursed spirits. At Jujutsu High, Toji Fushiguro ambushed Satoru Gojo after Gojo and Suguru Geto escorted Riko Amanai to safety, and Gojo began fighting back with Blue.

  • Kenjaku watched a recording of Ze Zenin defeating three cursed spirits and reconsidered his plans, including whether to awaken Ryomen Sukuna early.
  • Kenjaku decided to cooperate more closely with the three cursed spirits and hoped Toji Fushiguro would act quickly.
  • Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo brought Riko Amanai and Kuroi to Jujutsu High, where Geto explained that Master Tengen’s barrier protected the grounds.
  • Toji Fushiguro stabbed Satoru Gojo from behind, but Gojo forced the blade out and kicked him away while Geto attacked with a sandworm.
  • Gojo told Geto to take Riko into the Tombs of the Star Corridor and stayed behind to face Toji.
  • Toji explained that he had canceled the bounty on Riko to wear Gojo down, and Gojo asked about his connection to the Three Great Families before activating Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue.
