When the latter stopped appearing roughly a thousand years earlier, subordinate snake clans led by the Nine Netherworld Python Clan rebelled. The victors seized the clan’s heavenly flames, preventing further Heaven Swallowing Python awakenings; Yao Lao believes the present desert tribe descended from scattered survivors 45.

As queen, Medusa seeks a heavenly flame to restore her clan’s bloodline inheritance. She defeated the Five-Star Dou Emperor Hai Bodong during his own flame search and sealed him down to approximately Dou Ling, sparing him to avoid provoking conflict with the Jia Ma Empire 51. Proud and imposing toward others, she remains suspicious of Xiao Yan even after agreeing to cooperate.
