Setsuna entered the Uchiha clan’s war against the Hagoromo and Senju, using his knowledge of the future and the Rebellion Value System to influence the conflict. After helping the Hagoromo pursue peace, he awakened his Yin Release under Tobirama’s attack and escaped with the children.

• Setsuna arrived in the Warring States era as a young Uchiha, awakened a One-Tomoe Sharingan, and accepted Izuna’s challenge to prove himself on a supply mission.
• When Fuma ninja attacked the children, Setsuna returned to save Kagami, and the two boys helped kill their pursuers with Toshihi’s intervention.
• Setsuna accompanied Izuna to the Hagoromo, where he urged the clan to use traps against the Senju and helped shape a plan involving a grain wagon and an ambush.
• After discovering the Senju had destroyed the Cliff Stronghold, Setsuna joined Hagoromo Shogatsu in capturing ten Senju with a dust explosion, giving the Hagoromo leverage to seek a truce.
• Shogatsu argued for peace and warned against provoking the Fuma or Blood Horse, and Setsuna supported his view as the Hagoromo approached the Senju through the Sarutobi.
• Setsuna struggled to make his shadows respond to chakra, then learned he was provisionally set to become the Uchiha heir before Izuna sent him home with Toshihi.
• Tobirama trapped the returning children with the Bringer-of-Darkness Technique, but Kagami protected Setsuna and Setsuna awakened his Yin Release, summoning huge shadow hands before the Uchiha escorts led the group to safety.

Setsuna joined Madara’s mission to the Hagoromo and challenged the clan’s approach to war, peace, and the Daimyo. After sneaking to the Naka River with Hiruzen, Setsuna discovered an ambush targeting Naoki and prepared to cross the river to help him.

• Setsuna endured punishment in the Small Buddha Hall, developed his Shadow Technique, and learned that Huo Rong had died saving Setsuko Kurama.
• Setsuna confronted Setsuko at his parents’ cremation and urged her to live up to their sacrifice, changing her fate.
• Setsuna persuaded Madara to take him to the Hagoromo, where he used a disguise and questioning to learn that Hashirama and Naoki Senju were nearby.
• Setsuna proposed overthrowing the Daimyo, but Madara argued that protecting ordinary people and the Uchiha clan made such a revolt too dangerous.
• Setsuna sneaked out with Hiruzen to the Naka River, where they encountered Naoki and his guard Liangzhu across the water.
• The Five Brothers of Demon River ambushed the children, and Setsuna killed one attacker with a shadow hidden inside his grass-woven shuriken.
• The remaining attackers trapped Naoki and Liangzhu behind a Wind Release prison, so Setsuna sent Hiruzen to fetch help and prepared to cross the river.
