The Pastor dejectedly cleaned up the Church with the other believers, then led them through their usual evening service.
Meanwhile, Zhao Xun kept busy melting the small Sculptures into the large ball. He only stopped once the believers finished their daily prayers.
He worked in short bursts, resting between them and pretending to be exhausted, but still managed to fuse all the small Sculptures in the Church by the end of the service.
In case anyone tried to interfere, he had to deal promptly with every Sculpture brought out before the congregation.
Otherwise, he might not notice in time if one or two went missing.
After the service, before leaving, Zhao Xun walked up to the Pastor and asked, "Pastor, how many small Sculptures are left?"
The Pastor had lost his earlier swagger. He answered listlessly, "About ten times as many as we brought out today."
That gave Zhao Xun a clear idea. He reminded the Pastor, "Since only you know where the Sculptures are hidden, make sure no one spots you moving them. If a few go missing and ruin the Lord's fusion plan, neither of us will benefit."
At that, the Pastor perked up a little. He nodded solemnly. "Don't worry. I absolutely won't hold up the Lord's work."
Even without Zhao Xun's reminder, he would have guarded the place where the Sculptures were hidden.
After all, it was the only thing that proved his status was higher than the other believers'. Naturally, he would protect it with his life.
And fusing all the Sculptures was the Lord's command. As his most devout believer, he would naturally devote himself wholeheartedly to completing the Lord's task.
Even if he feared Zhao Xun would replace him, he would never dare sabotage the Lord's plan.
Zhao Xun returned to John's house.
