Seeing how eager Scarred Man and Glasses Girl were to prove their worth, Zhao Xun did not refuse.
Even though he could have answered all those questions simply by hypnotizing the King.
Still, they could do their thing while he did his. It would not interfere with anything.
"Okay," Zhao Xun went along with them. "Then I'll look into the procedure for 'proclaiming yourself king.'"
After a moment's thought, he added, "I hear that whenever the palace holds a grand banquet, all the servants take part. There are so many distinguished guests that they need more servants to wait on them. We can find an opportunity at the banquet to exchange whatever information we've gathered."
Scarred Man and Glasses Girl both agreed with Zhao Xun's suggestion.
Without another word, the three went their separate ways.
After leaving the garden, Zhao Xun finally headed toward the stable.
His eyes were fixed ahead, but his mind was elsewhere.
There was actually one thing he had not told Scarred Man and Glasses Girl.
It concerned the phrase "proclaiming yourself king."
There were, in fact, two ways to interpret it.
One was that all three of them would become "kings."
The other was that only one of the three could become "king."
The most conventional interpretation of "king" was the highest-ranking individual within a group.
So Zhao Xun was more inclined to believe there could only be one "king."
That would mean only one of the three could clear the game.
After all, the Collaborative Mission explicitly required them to "proclaim themselves king" to complete it. Anyone who failed to become "king" would naturally fail the mission.
Of course, there might also be a loophole—if the three took turns being king, perhaps that would count as all of them completing the Collaborative Mission.
