"What a pain," the Crew-Cut Man muttered, but he obediently withdrew his hand.
Everyone began rummaging through the servants' quarters again.
Soon, Zhao Xun found a document on the Prince, something like a travel permit that verified his identity as a prince.
According to the document, however, he was not the prince of this country, but of another kingdom on the other side of a mountain, called the Mountain Country.
Meanwhile, the Cloaked Man found a letter tucked inside the quilt on the upper bunk of the neighboring bed. It claimed that the Mountain Country's Prince had forged his identity and was not a real prince.
The Cloaked Man walked over to Zhao Xun and glanced at the document in his hand.
"Now it's hard to tell." The Cloaked Man looked back and forth between the document and the letter several times, hesitating. "We can't easily verify the document's authenticity, and we can't be sure this letter contains reliable information either. With only these two contradictory clues, it's hard to determine whether this Prince is genuine."
"Let's see whether the others can find any more clues." As Zhao Xun spoke, he folded the document and put it in his pocket.
Seeing this, the Cloaked Man suddenly spoke up. "I think it would be better to keep all the clues together."
"Sure." Zhao Xun casually took out the document and handed it straight to the Cloaked Man. "Then you can hold on to it."
The Cloaked Man froze for a moment, clearly not expecting Zhao Xun to surrender his clue so readily.
After some thought, he added, "Actually, let's put it back on the Prince. Otherwise, it might get mixed up with the clues we find on the other princes later, which would only make things more troublesome."
"That works too."
