If the Princess died, it would all be over.
By comparison, sleep seemed far less important.
Although Cloaked Man had grown suspicious of Earring Woman's identity, he still wasn't completely certain.
More importantly, he couldn't be sure whether there were any other potential Assassins besides Earring Woman.
If they took turns keeping watch, fewer Knights would be awake, giving the Assassins the perfect opportunity to strike.
"Maybe we should just stay awake," Twin-Tails suggested quietly. "I couldn't sleep in a place like this anyway."
It wasn't that she needed her own bed to sleep. She was simply easily frightened.
She had just witnessed the fake Prince turn into a werewolf. Who knew when the two Princes in the room might suddenly turn into monsters too?
On top of that, there were all those insects and birds outside, watching hungrily.
She would rather pinch her thighs purple to keep herself awake than be killed in her sleep without even knowing it.
She wanted to live.
"If you want to rest, that's still an option," Zhao Xun suggested with a smile. "We just need to do it in reverse."
"In reverse?" Twin-Tails looked at Zhao Xun in confusion.
"When people take turns keeping watch, most of them sleep while one or two stay awake," Zhao Xun explained. "We can keep most people awake and let just one person sleep, then switch who gets to rest every hour and a half or so."
Everyone paused. They genuinely hadn't thought of that.
"Everyone would get very little sleep that way, but it's still better than staying up all night without any chance to sleep." Crew-Cut Man immediately agreed with the suggestion. "It would also go a long way toward keeping the Princess safe. I think it's a great idea!"
"That could work," Cloaked Man
